Orthodox Chief Rabbi Meets with Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - Chief Rabbi of Efrat, Shlomo Riskin, met with Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal for the first time since the Archbishop took the position in June of this year. Rabbi Riskin congratulated the Latin Patriarch on his new appointment and expressed the Jewish community's willingness to work with Catholic Church to foster better relations between the faiths to "promote a religion of peace."
Archbishop Twal expressed his delight that Rabbi Riskin opened the first Orthodox Jewish center to theologically dialogue with Christians and is looking forward in exploring ways that both Judaism and Christianity can work together.
