Orthodox Chief Rabbi Meets with Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - Chief Rabbi of Efrat, Shlomo Riskin, met with Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal for the first time since the Archbishop took the position in June of this year. Rabbi Riskin congratulated the Latin Patriarch on his new appointment and expressed the Jewish community's willingness to work with Catholic Church to foster better relations between the faiths to "promote a religion of peace."

Archbishop Twal expressed his delight that Rabbi Riskin opened the first Orthodox Jewish center to theologically dialogue with Christians and is looking forward in exploring ways that both Judaism and Christianity can work together.

NEW YORK—A jeweler was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail and fined $5,000 for falsely reporting that five Arab men were plotting to bomb the subway system, a scheme meant to cause trouble for his former business associates.

The judge, who could have sentenced Rimon Alkatri to seven years in prison, said that only the professionalism of the city's police prevented the men named by the defendant from spending at least a few days in jail.

"I believe your conduct does deserve punishment, does deserve imprisonment," State Supreme Court Justice Maxwell Wiley told Alkatri, 35.

Alkatri also faces deportation to his native Syria as a convicted felon. One of his lawyers, Michael L. Soshnick, argued that a return to that country could be fatal because Alkatri is Jewish.

Alkatri told the court, "I'm sorry for what I did," and he mumbled a few more inaudible sentences before sitting down.

A Manhattan jury convicted Alkatri in November of falsely reporting an incident in the first degree. Prosecutors said Alkatri called the city's SAFE telephone hot line around 8:15 p.m. on May 30, 2006, and told a New York Police Department officer he knew of five men plotting to bomb the subways on July 4, 2006.

Speaking on a prepaid cell phone that he later threw away, Alkatri used words that he thought would get police to act: Arabs, Allah Akbar, terrorists and suicide bombers. He also lied that he was Jose Rodriguez from Israel.

Prosecutors said the false report had the desired effect on Alkatri's targets: Police investigated the men and searched their homes with bomb-sniffing dogs. Nothing suspicious was found.

The five men Alkatri named were former business acquaintances or their associates, prosecutors said.

Papal audience: focus on Chrysostom, domestic Church

If St. John Chrysostom is still "alive" today, there's no evidence of it in the Vatican.

One can only imagine the pity with which St. John Chrysostom looks down upon this man, Benedict XVI, and much more so, the many souls who are misled by him in precisely the area that the great Church Doctor preached so compellingly. What would that stalwart opponent of Judaizing errors say to Benedict of his contention that the Judaic wait for a messiah is not in vain; that rabbinic exegesis is of benefit to Christians, or his raising of the question of whether Christians even have a right to interpret Scripture after the Nazi persecutions?

Dear God in heaven, save us from the double-mindedness of this pope who lauds St. John Chrysostom in word and mocks him in deed to the extreme degree that he does. Would Benedict dare deny that today, St. John Chrysostom would likely be thrown out of any given Catholic seminary before completing his first day due to "antisemitism"?

Benedict repeatedly tells us that Christians have a special "common mission" with the rabbis who call themselves "Jews." He calls them our "elder brothers in the faith." He says that we need to increase our "religious relations" with them. Benedict prays with the rabbis, is pictured in their synagogues and presides over a virtual conga line of rabbis processing through the Vatican.

Let us hear from St. John Chrysostom on this topic:

So the godlessness of the Jews and the pagans is on a par. But the Jews practice a deceit which is more dangerous. In their synagogue stands an invisible altar of deceit on which they sacrifice not sheep and calves but the souls of men. (Adversus Judaeos, Homily I, St. John Chrysostom)

Good God! Talk about contrast. Is there any more contrast between black and white than exists between these two positions? I think not. It is plainly evident that these two positions cannot both be correct. Given that St. John Chrysostom is a Church Doctor and his position has the support of scripture and 1964 years of Church tradition, I'm going to have to side with him here.

Two members of an influential family in Brooklyn’s Chabad-Lubavitch community were arrested this week after being indicted by a federal grand jury The indictment from the district attorney in Philadelphia charges Moshe Rubashkin with leaving hazardous waste at a textile plant in Allentown, Pa. Rubashkin is a communal leader in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, the stronghold of the Chabad-Lubavitch sect of Orthodox Judaism.

Rubashkin’s son, Sholom, was also charged with misleading an investigation into a fire at the plant. The younger Rubashkin ran the real estate branch of the family’s business under the alias Sam Sternburg ...

The family got its start in America when the patriarch, Aaron Rubashkin, came over from Russia in 1945. Once in Brooklyn, Rubashkin, set up a local butcher shop in Brooklyn. In the ’80s, the family began expanding its business interests aggressively. Two of Rubashkin’s sons set up the AgriProcessors slaughterhouse in Postville, Iowa. The plant, which produces meat under the Aaron’s Best label, has been under scrutiny due to complaints about the way it has treated the animals that are slaughtered there and the people who work there.

Nathan Lewin, a lawyer who is representing the family in the case, did not return calls seeking comment ...

In the indictment, the EPA claims that when it attempted to charge the party responsible for costs incurred in cleaning out the mill, it discovered that the property had been held by a confusing tangle of real estate companies with no clear owner. Sholom Rubashkin, 28, ran the real estate branch of the family business under his alias and informed the EPA that he had no connection to the mill site at the time of the fires. The indictment alleges that Sholom “knowingly and willfully made materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements.”

Wow, the language of this indictment is refreshingly appropriate. How often we see accusations of lying referred to euphemistically or avoided altogether today, particularly where Talmud-upholding "chosen people" are concerned--where it quite often applies. But here we see lies referred to specifically for what they are--knowingly and willfully made materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements--and in reference to "chosen" Lubavitchers.

This is a positive development, but there is still a long way to go. In a sane world it would be common knowledge that knowingly and willfully making materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements is the essence of the Talmudic tradition and to be expected from pious Orthodox Judaics, not only the indicted Lubavitchers referred to in the above article, but also their lawyer, Nathan Lewin and all Orthodox Judaics who uphold the Talmudic tradition and it's offshoots, such as Zionism, as well as Judaism's philo-Judaic stepchildren, Freemasonry and the myriad of Kabbalistic variants. We have a long way to go before we arrive at the point when Orthodox Judaic Lieberman and Skull and Bones Bush are perceived as suspect liars before they even open their mouths, and certainly not worthy candidates for high office.

As a society we have come to expect that our leaders will tell us lies. We've come to believe that God's chosen people are liars. These are symptoms of a terribly, terribly sick society and the prognosis is death if the illness remains untreated.

Pope makes Nazi atrocities part of Stations of the Cross

Pope speaks of Nazi atrocities in Easter ritual

The Pope shocked many Catholics last night with a dramatically revised version of the Stations of the Cross, one of the central rituals of the Easter ceremony. The ceremony, also known as the Via Crucis, recreates Jesus's path on the day of his death from the Antonia fortress to Golgotha, where he was crucified.

The Pope carried the cross for the first and last of the 14 stops on a candle-lit procession around the Coliseum in Rome. However, this year the Pope chose to change both the route and the content of the ceremony. The Vatican said the changes were designed to reflect the gospels more truly and to link Jesus's suffering with the suffering of mankind today.

One of the boldest changes came on the third stop, where Jesus is given up to Pontius Pilate by the Sanhedrin, a council of Jews. The Pope recalled the sentence that was passed over the Jews by the Nazis, and their suffering in concentration camps. He quoted Etty Hilesum, a Dutch Jew, who was executed in Auschwitz in 1943, saying: "We must oppose every new horror and crime with a new piece of the truth and goodness. We may suffer, but we must not succumb."

Monsignor Gianfranco Ravasi, the prefect of the Ambrosian Library in Milan and a member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, was asked by the Pope to update the ceremony. He said: "I did not want the ceremony just to be a simple recollection of a past event. I wanted worshippers to feel and live through the raw and bitter reality like a neighbour."

The new changes also included cutting the stop where Jesus drops the Cross, as well as a reference to St Veronica, who mopped Jesus's brow. St Veronica is merely apocryphal and not mentioned in the gospels.

However, a reference to Judas Iscariot was inserted for the first time because, in the words of Mgr Ravasi, "dawn follows night, out of darkness comes light, and after betrayal comes penitence." Later, on the ninth stop, where Jesus met a group of women, the Pope spoke out against the suffering of "violated" women. He recalled the women "who have been subjected to tribal practices", the mothers in crisis and alone, "the Jewish or Palestinian mothers and those in all lands ravaged by war, the widows and old ladies forgotten by their children".The ceremony ended with St Matthew's Passion by Bach.

The second news article documents another gambit emanating from the opposite Kabbalistic pillar: the enlightened rabbi who is open to reform and accommodation of liberal trends. Liberals are frequently taken by this gambit which also serves to promote the ludicrous notion among those who have a healthy suspicion of Judaism that the rabbis have given up their hostile old ways.

This is how Judaism ingratiates itself with those whom it seeks to overthrow and dispossess in order to enthrone itself. The methods are the same in all of it's guises, Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Secular, Zionist, Communist, Liberal, Neoconservative, etc., etc. Any apparent contradictions or conflicts between the different forms of Judaism--which all, in essence, amount to extreme tribalism--are inconsequential when juxtaposed against the damage caused by all of Judaism's branches to those outside the "tribe."
