"John Cardinal O’Connor spoke at the dedication of our Museum and forged our connection with the schools of the Archdiocese, stating that it was his desire that every student from every Catholic school visit the Museum. Cardinal O'Connor was a graduate student at Georgetown University under Jeane Kirkpatrick, who remembered O'Connor as 'the most intelligent student she had ever known in her long years of teaching.'

Jeane Kirkpatrick's best students (see: Alan Keyes) are possessed of a certain rabid kind of philo-Judaic fanaticism. Cardinal O'Connor was no exception.

Jeane Kirkpatrick's husband was Evron Maurice Kirkpatrick who was an aid to Bill Donovan, the head of the OSS largely responsible for producing WWII atrocity psyops which unfortunately have been canonized by the secular and ecclesiastical establishment of the West.

Panetta was one of the scoundrels who foisted this psychological warfare holy day on the people of the U.S. for the purpose of covering over Allied WWII atrocities against the Christian civilians of Europe and Japan and justifying the massive expenditure in blood and treasure that propped up and continues to prop up the Judaic Imperium. Yesterday, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta joined Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak in commemorating the victims and survivors of the Holocaust at an event marking Yom HaShoah.


[Excepts from] the Secretary's remarks are below as Delivered by Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta, The Pentagon Auditorium, Washington D.C., Thursday, April 19, 2012 Holocaust Remembrance Day Observance:

Today we pause to remember and honor six million souls who were murdered not because of anything they had done, but because of who they were. They will always be in our memory, they will always be in our prayers, and they will always be in our hearts.

... Today we also celebrate the enduring strength of the Jewish people, who overcame this tragedy and built a strong and vibrant Jewish state in Israel. They have flourished there, they have flourished here in America, and indeed across the world, and that too is an inspiration to all of us.

In my faith, the resurrection from the dead is fundamental to our hope and to our faith. In the Jewish faith, resurrection from tragedy is fundamental to their hope and to their faith

... I just had the opportunity to meet with my friend ['Defense' Minister of Counterfeit Israel] Ehud Barak, and we are deeply honored that he was able to join us here today in this observance

... Ehud, I am proud to be your partner, and I am proud to be your friend, and to work with you in continuing to strengthen the U.S.-Israel defense relationship. It is an honor for me to be able to participate in this event with all of you.

Today the world comes together to mark Yom Ha’Shoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day. It was my privilege to have served in the U.S. House of Representatives when we passed a law recognizing the days surrounding Yom Ha’Shoah as a national civic commemoration, a law that also established the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. I believed it was important then when I cast that vote, and it is important today, to mark these days of remembrance, because through commemorations like this, large and small, within families at home, we send a strong message that we will never forget, and that we will never allow this to happen again. That solemn responsibility is shared by us as human beings, by us as Americans, and by us as men and women of the Department of Defense, who could be asked, when the time comes, to act, to make sure that it never happens again.

For the United States Armed Services, these events are not a distant memory. Our modern military was forged in the crucible of World War II. It was forged in the fight against Nazi tyranny. To defeat Hitler we mobilized all of the strength that we could muster, and in that effort we witnessed many of our finest hours as a military and indeed, as a country.

Today we carry forward the proud legacy of men and women of the United States Army who played a vital role in liberating the camps at Buchenwald, Dora-Mittelbau, Flossenbürg, Dachau, and Mauthausen. American forces not only brought freedom to the survivors of Nazi horrors, they also made sure that in its aftermath the world would know what [is alleged to have] happened.

In the days after Allied forces captured the first concentration camps, General Eisenhower, General Patton and General Bradley themselves inspected a camp [that had previously been prepared by the U.S. OSS (the predecessor to the CIA) as a psychological warfare operation], and learned and saw [staged 'evidence' of] atrocities that had [been intended to appear as though they had] occurred. They were, in Eisenhower’s words, atrocities “beyond the American mind to comprehend” [but not beyond the the OSS's imagination to dream up]. Eisenhower ordered every American soldier in the area who was not on the front lines to take the time to tour these [psychological warfare operations the OSS had set up in the] camps, so that they could themselves see what they were [alleged to have been] fighting against, and why they were [alleged to be] fighting. These soldiers became not only liberators, but witnesses to [what is alleged to be] one of the greatest atrocities in history [the purpose of the psychological warfare operation. German civilians were also forced to 'witness' the displays of 'atrocities' staged by the OSS].

The commitment of our forces to the survivors of Nazi atrocities did not end with liberation.  In the aftermath of war, we cared for survivors and we helped reunite families.  We provided physical nourishment, and we provided spiritual nourishment as well.

For example, upon [hearing the Yiddish tall tale that] there was not a single complete edition of the Talmud in Germany General Joseph McNarney, commander of the American zone of Occupied Germany, undertook an effort to print a Talmud for survivors [Hitler was more hostile to the Bible than the Talmud. He did in fact allow printing of the Talmud. Moreover, he did not print Johannes Eisenmenger's devastating, unsurpassed critique of Judaism].

And when American forces discovered enormous caches of looted cultural materials, they set about ensuring that these objects were treated with the greatest respect.

Ultimately, thanks to these efforts, millions of objects and sacred texts were returned to their rightful heirs or held in trust by Jewish successor organizations.

The leader of that effort, a U.S. Army Captain named Seymour Pomrenze, was a hero whose actions embodied the professionalism and dedication of the uniform he wore.

The contributions of American service members like Captain Pomrenze make all of us proud, and we remember them as we come together as a community today to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Though we will always know what good was done and that lives were saved, we must always remember that we were unable to save the six million Jews who perished under Hitler’s cruel reign.

That is a burden that all of us must carry.  Not just the generation of World War II, but every generation must carry that burden.  It is one that we have turned into shared determination, a shared determination to ensure that this never happens again.

Today we renew that commitment.  That is what this day is truly all about.  We do so by coming together to bear witness, just as our service members did more than sixty-five years ago.  In a moment, we will be privileged to hear from Charlene Schiff, who has dedicated her life to making sure that the lives of those who perished in the Holocaust are never forgotten.

Charlene, it is our honor to be witnesses to your story.  And it is our honor to affirm to you that we will never stop fighting in the memory of those who perished – fighting for a better future, and fighting for a world safe from aggression, from tyranny and from injustice.

Out of the darkness that was the Holocaust comes the eternal hope that never again, never again, will we allow that to happen.  I would now like to invite Minister Barak and the Service Secretaries to join me and Charlene in lighting memorial candles.

These candles symbolize unity and hope, and our shared commitment to honor the memory of all those who perished in the Holocaust.

New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan put on the 'Holocaust' headphones at his [requisite to advancement] pilgrimage to counterfeit Israel's Yad Vashem 'Holocaust' 'museum' on January 30, 2011. He left his raucous guffaws, inane jokes and cheese hat at St. Patrick's Cathedral. At Yad Vashem's 'Hall of Names' we witness a display of seriousness and devotion from Dolan perhaps even more extreme than his irreverence and clownishness at the most sanctified Christian times and places. Dolan offers us a jarring study in contrast. This depraved example from Dolan inculcates the same depravity in his followers.

On January 30, 2011, following Hasidic tradition, an uncharacteristically pious and serious Timothy Dolan puts his “kvitel” (intentional prayer) in a crack of 'The Wailing Wall' in counterfeit Jerusalem, which in all likelihood is not part of the Temple which Jesus foretold would be destroyed to the degree that not even one stone would be left standing on another (Matthew 24;22). Dolan and similar philorabbinic 'Christians' suggest by such ruses that there is some spiritual, religious presence to a place that Jesus said is desolate (Matthew 23;38-39).

On February 18, 2012, two weeks following Archbishop Timothy Dolan's requisite public submission to Zionism and Holocaustolatry he is rewarded with a red hat. At the ceremony Dolan comments that red symbolizes unconditional love of the faith even unto shedding of blood. I have no doubt that Timothy Dolan would sooner shed blood for 'The Holocaust' than defend the Gospel that he and his brothers in the 'Holocaust' faith trample upon with impunity.

A rabbi who proclaimed himself the “Jewish Indiana Jones” admitted Thursday he was really the villain in a made-for-Hollywood swindle.

Menachem Youlus, a Baltimore bookstore owner, pleaded guilty in Manhattan Federal Court to spinning a web of lies that snared a billionaire philanthropist.

He faces up to five years in prison for creating a bogus charity built on fictional tales of rescuing Holocaust-era Torahs, selling forgeries and pocketing the dough.

“I know what I did was wrong and I deeply regret my conduct,” Youlus said in court.

His lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, said the plea deal “ends an agonizing voyage by a good man with the best of intentions who ultimately strayed into fraudulent conduct.”

Prosecutors had charged Youlus, 50, with weaving fantastical tales of international derring-do to impress donors to his charity.

He claimed to have used a metal detector to unearth a metal box with Torah scrolls on the grounds of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

He sold the supposed relic to investor David Rubenstein, who donated them to the Central Synagogue in Manhattan, and tried to soak him for a $250,000 donation, court papers say.

Youlus also convinced a buyer that he found a Torah at the Bergen-Belsen camp by telling a ridiculous account of stumbling onto a hole in the corner of the floorboards.

He used the money to pay private school tuition bills for his kids and to make personal investments.

As part of his plea agreement, he will repay his victims $1.2 million. He is free on $100,000 bond until his June 21 sentencing.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara noted that Youlus had “exploited the profound emotions attached to one of the most painful chapters in world history — the Holocaust — in order to make a profit.

“Today’s guilty plea is a fitting conclusion to his story and he will now be punished for his brazen fraud.

Desbois and his travelin' 'Holocaust' show has the full support of Cardinal Jean-Pierre Ricard (of the Eclessia Dei Commission which oversees all things related to the traditional Latin Mass and 'regularization' with the SSPX) and Pope Benedict XVI.

The people of Kiev deserve an apology for the Judeo-Bolshevik terror and genocide perpetrated upon their ancestors by the ancestors of Patrick Desbois' eternally holocausted brothers in the faith, but instead they're visited by Desbois' mobile guilt chamber. Such is the the state of Catholic evangelism in 2011. Run for your lives away from these villains.

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — An exhibition focused on [an unsubstantiated claim of a] massacre of 1.4 million [Yiddish folk] in Soviet Ukraine opened in Kiev on Thursday, featuring a [disparate] display of [alleged] Nazi bullets, photographs of bones [alleged to be Judaic] and tearful [alleged] witness testimonies, [lots of 'witness testimonies' as we've come to expect in support of an alleged genocide of unprecedented scale for which scant material evidence exists].

The exhibit is based on the work of [a] French Catholic Priest [who has no training in forensic investigation, but does have a love for Talmud and burning zeal for Holocaustolatry] Patrick Desbois, who has been canvassing Ukrainian villages on a quest to [claim every mass grave in East Europe and many more imaginary ones as being filled with Judaic corpses] shot by Nazi soldiers and their collaborators during ['The Holocaust'. The exhibit does not mention the millions of Ukrainian people killed by Judaic Bolsheviks and later systematically starved to death. Indeed, it endeavors to count Christian Ukrainian mass graves as being filled with 'Jews.']  

"Each Jewish person deserves to be buried and reintegrated into humanity," Desbois said, ["but not non-Jews and especially not Ukrainians.] We cannot live like predators next to mass graves ... building modern societies on the graves of people that we assassinated, [except in Israel because The Jews aren't bound by Goy standards."]

[The Judaic establishment's court historians] say some 1.4 million of Soviet Ukraine's 2.4 million [Yiddish folk] were executed, starved to death or died of disease during World War II. [They don't say anything about the tens of millions of East European Christians who were executed, starved to death or died of disease prior to, during and after World War II because their careers would be terminated. Judaic] remains are [alleged to be] strewn around the country in common graves, many of them [memorialized by Patrick Debois and the multimillion dollar 'Holocaust' 'Museums' around the world, books films, liturgies, articles etc. ad nauseam. Christian mass graves from that time period] are largely ignored [particularly so by Patrick Desbois] and unmarked.

[According to the new-and-improved version of holy 'Holocaust' writ, an alleged] shooting slaughter of [Judaic people] in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia was the opening phase of what [is alleged to be] the Nazis' Final Solution [a concept conjured up after the war by 'Holocaust' propagandists] with its [spooky and sinister, as seen in the movies] factories of death [depicted as] operating in Auschwitz and other camps in Nazi-occupied Poland [according to 'Holocaust' books and dramatizations].

[Court historians say the] campaign began after Germany invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941 and [holy 'Holocaust' writ proclaims the "Holocaust' of bullets"] epitomized by Babi Yar, a ravine in the capital Kiev where [Allied atrocity propaganda, and subsequently, holy 'Holocaust' books and films declare that] Nazis killed about 34,000 [Judaic people by lining them up in front of a pit that they were forced to dig themselves, shooting them and then covering the bodies up with hand shovels] during just two days in September 1941 [despite the absurdity of the claim and no physical evidence supporting it. Due to pressure from Judaic power organizations] Ukraine will mark the 70th anniversary of [this mythical Judaic calamity] later this month [because it's a fundamental element of Judaic tradition to 'remember' countless persecutions 'the Goyim' have perpetrated against them for no reason except that "they are 'Jews." Desbois [is figurehead of] a [rabbinic] Association Yahad-in-Unum, (the Hebrew and Latin words for "together"), which was founded by [Vatican prelates and their brother rabbis] to [guilt-bash and Judaize Catholics]. Education Minister Gideon Saar and his Italian counterpart, Mariastella Gelmini, signed cooperation agreements Monday for training Italian teachers in Holocaust education, and for bilateral youth exchanges. The agreements were signed in the course of today's joint Israeli-Italian government meeting in Rome.

The agreement on training Italian teachers in Holocaust education is the first of its kind. The Italian Education Ministry will, on an annual basis, select teachers to attend special training at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. These teachers will then teach the subject in Italian secondary schools. Previous training in teaching the Holocaust has been carried out in non-governmental frameworks.

Minister Saar said that, "Enhancing Holocaust studies around the world, especially in Europe, constitutes a bulwark against forgetting and denying the Holocaust.

According to the second agreement, a joint steering committee will be established to work on advancing bilateral youth exchanges. Education Minister Saar said that, "It is important to strengthen the deep links between Italy and Israel by boosting the brave friendship between our peoples. Friendly meetings between youth will help guarantee future relations."

Another agreement signed Monday between Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and his Italian counterpart, Franco Frattini, also provides for the advancement of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, research and higher education.

Michael Berenbaum, a rabbi and Holocaust scholar, has praised the Vatican announcement of Pope John Paul II’s beatification.

“Jews have no right to register an opinion on whom the Roman Catholic Church beautifies [sic] and whom it considers a saint,” he writes. “Nevertheless, this has not stopped us from asserting our disapproval of the efforts to canonize Pope Pius XII, the man who served as Pope during the Holocaust.”

“Though I have no vote,” he concludes, “were I to have [a] vote, I would be honored to consider Pope John Paul II a saint, not a saint without flaws, or human fallibility but a saint nevertheless.”

It's Not Proper that "The Holocaust" Gets Special Billing

The primacy of "The Holocaust" doesn't diminish the suffering of others?

You better believe the masters of both relativism and absolutism are panic stricken at the thought of their sacrosanct "Holocaust" taking a place on level ground among the pantheon of atrocities against human populations; being relativised among them. That's just not how Judaism works!

My study of how my (previously absolute) religious beliefs are being relativised away in reference to the absolute primacy of "The Holocaust" has left me feeling rather unsympathetic to this totem of tribal megalomania. It's long past time for a sober view of this "Holocaust" and that will begin when it steps down to its proper place among all other crimes against human beings. There can be no honest assessment of the matter when "scholars" (in reality, "Holocaust" absolutists) such as Peter Hitchens obediently bow down before this idol chanting ridiculous mantras such as:

... there is still no crime equivalent to the Holocaust, and any attempt “to pretend that other events — however horrifying — are equivalent [is] dishonest and detracts from that uniqueness a uniqueness which provides an unanswerable case for the existence of the Jewish state.”

This is a tacit admission that Holocaustolatry is backwards and upside down proceeding from the founding of the Zionist state backwards to the alleged events of "The Holocaust." What a radical shift "The Holocaust" has brought about in the universe as it tears through space and time reversing causality! To quote the Israeli interloper from my comments box, "do you really believe this stuff?"

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is intended to promote the idea that there exists no greater crime than the abuse of individuals because of their creed, colour or religion. It is also meant to convey the noble notion that such affronts should create revulsion in everyone, not just the victims.

But some say that noble intention could be tarnished by plans to give more attention and space to some victims over others — opening an uncomfortable and highly emotional debate about the hierarchy of suffering, something that touches on grievances that have gone on for decades in Canada and elsewhere.

The museum, set to open in Winnipeg in the spring of 2013, will give primacy to the murder of six million Jews during the Second World War, through a dedicated “zone” to the Holocaust.

All other “mass atrocities” will be put together and housed in a separate zone and will include, among other events, the Rwandan massacres, the Cambodian Killing Fields, and the Holodomor — the planned starvation and execution of at least 3.2 million Ukrainians in the early 1930s under Stalin.

For Ukrainian Canadians especially, this decision is emblematic of a long history of vying for recognition of the terror their people suffered at the hands of one of history’s most murderous tyrants.

Any competition for attention could regrettably start to look like the “genocide Olympics,” said Lubomyr Luciuk, director of research for the Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Association and a professor at the Royal Military College of Canada. “Intentionally or not, it leaves the impression that the horrors that befell some of communities are somehow more worthy of memory. That kind of partiality is unacceptable in a taxpayer-funded national museum.”

This is not the first time such controversies have erupted about the recognition of suffering. For example, two years ago, a group lobbying for a memorial in Ottawa to the victims of communism — 100 million in the 20th century in the former Soviet Union, China, Cambodia and elsewhere, according to some counts — encountered resistance from a parliamentary committee over labelling all communists as mass killers. In the end, a compromise was reached in which the term “totalitarian communism” was settled upon, and the memorial is approved for construction.

Angela Cassie, the director of communications for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, said the Holocaust is given particular prominence because it acts as a template to understand the broader idea of genocide wherever it occurs, a kind of window into how genocides begin in the first place.

“We don’t want this to be a competition on suffering,” she said. “But the Holocaust is the most documented of all mass murders so it can be used to deconstruct the steps that lead to all mass murder.

“But I know that many people will still not be satisfied with our decision.”

Arthur Schafer, the director of the Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics at the University of Manitoba, said the decision to give the Holocaust a particular place of recognition in the museum should not be viewed as “diminishing the suffering of others,” because the Holocaust is unique.

No matter the venue or context, he said, the Holocaust always has to be given primacy of commemoration because of the ideology that was behind the murder of the Jews.

“The very rationale for killing Jews was part of the official ideology of Nazism while forced starvation of Ukrainians was not the official ideology of communism. What makes it unique was that it was the end result of planned dehumanizing of people. It was an ideology that said Jews were sub-human, they were toxic and the world needed to be freed of them.”

British journalist Peter Hitchens, author of The Rage Against God, which argued that the Soviet Union became one of the most “disgusting societies” ever to have existed, is well aware of the crimes of the former communist state. He has also wondered why there are no major museums dedicated to the crimes of communism.

Despite this, he said, there is still no crime equivalent to the Holocaust, and any attempt “to pretend that other events — however horrifying — are equivalent [is] dishonest and detracts from that uniqueness a uniqueness which provides an unanswerable case for the existence of the Jewish state.”

U.S. historian Timothy Snyder shines a light on Stalin’s crimes in a new book, and places those awful events along a continuum that climaxed with the Holocaust. Bloodlands looks at how the region between Berlin and Moscow became a region of mass murder perpetrated by both Hitler and Stalin, and how the two maniacal leaders fed off each other. Many forget that the two states were allied for about two years and collaborated on the destruction of Poland.

His description of the Holocaust is even grimmer than most people have understood — and makes the crimes against the Jews even more personal and vile, if this is possible.

But Mr. Snyder also notes that by 1933, the year Hitler came to power, more than three millions Ukrainians had already been killed by Stalin and that the regime continued to kill millions more of its own citizens before and through the war.

In Bloodlands, and in the works of other scholars, it is made clear that Stalin’s strategy was well thought out, even methodical, and was a likely template for the crimes of the Nazis.

Stalin first got rid of Ukrainian intellectuals, he destroyed the Kulaks, the more prosperous peasants, and then set about making sure that millions of men, women and children were denied enough food to survive. Later, Stalin created a form of ethnic cleansing by settling the Ukraine with ethnic Russians.

“In the waning weeks of 1932, facing no external security threat and no challenge from within, with no conceivable justification except to prove the inevitability of his rule, Stalin chose to kill millions of people in the Soviet Ukraine,” wrote Mr. Snyder. “He shifted to a position of pure malice, where somehow the Ukrainian peasant was the aggressor, and he, Stalin, the victim.”

Carolyn Foster, the project co-ordinator for Tribute To Liberty, the Canadian group that lobbied for the communism memorial in Ottawa, said it is not a surprise that there is so much ignorance about the crimes of that ideology — be it the millions in the Soviet Union or the up to 45 million who died under Mao in the Chinese famines of the late 1950s.

“The communists’ stock in trade was killing and propaganda. That’s sort of what they use to basically do what they want to do, to consolidate their power. The propaganda is why there is a veil around what happened. And what better way to hide a crime than by calling it a ‘famine’?

“The Holocaust was a more isolated incident. It began, it ended, and the Germans were the enemy. With communism it was going on before and is still going on, in many different countries under different regimes and targeting many different peoples. It is doesn’t have the containment of the Holocaust. The Holocaust is easy to identify.”

Ms. Foster said working on the Ottawa memorial revealed that the myth of good communism persists — “that if was implemented properly it would be the best system” — and there is need for more education on the history of all genocides.

The Holocaust is better known and understood than the consequences of Stalinism for a number of reasons. The Soviets were allies of the countries fighting fascism. Because the Germans were defeated, the perpetrators fell into Allied hands and so could be brought to justice. The Holocaust was filmed and photographed; almost everyone has an image burned in the mind about the Holocaust, but few would be able to recall a scene from the Holodomor. Moreover, the Germans kept meticulous records, which acted as a paper trail to their own crimes.

Stalin’s crimes came mainly before the war started, whereas the Germans conducted their worst atrocities during it. Once the war was over, the communist crimes stayed hidden behind the Iron Curtain.

Paul Grod, president of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, declines to compare the 20th century horrors.

“To be clear, this is not about the Holocaust versus the Holodomor, it is about the educational value of having both displayed equitably in the museum,” said Mr. Grod, who said he is proud of his close relationship with the Jewish community.

“Our community was supportive of the museum based on an understanding … it would be equitable, inclusive and fair. We do not see that principle being applied in the proposed content and layout of the museum.”

Every story of mass killing is distinct comes with its own unique circumstances and the danger of filtering one through another risks obscuring how different people were targeted for different reasons, Mr. Grod explained, which is why he objects to other “mass atrocities” being filtered through the template of the Holocaust.

In an interview, Mr. Snyder, author of Bloodlands, said the crimes of the Soviets will become clearer as more scholarship emerges. It has only been 22 years since the fall of the Iron Curtain, and it took till the early 1980s before scholars truly grasped the breadth of the Holocaust, despite the plethora of documents and testimony.

“I don’t like the word ‘unique’ to describe the Holocaust because everything then stands in the shadows of that event. The Holocaust was different; it was a crowning moment in a longer destructive process that began with Stalin,” he said.

“The Holocaust was more horrible than anything else, but you can’t say that unless you put everything else in the picture.”

Rabbi Richard Rubenstein is a 'Holocaust' dispensationalist. A 'Holocaust' dispensationalist is one who makes 'The Holocaust' to be a cosmic cataclysm that shatters all religion, philosophy, art, politics, education, et al, which all must be rebuilt in reference to 'The Holocaust.' Holocaust dispensationalism is based in the kabbalistic view of cosmology (which has it that creation was a cosmic disaster) and history (an unfolding process of relationship between God, 'The Jews,' and ideas, all in a constant evolutionary state of 'becoming'). Rubenstein's 1966 book, After Auschwitz is a founding stone of this fanatical 'Holocaust'-centrism. Far from being isolated to the realm of lunatic Times Square evangelists, this thinking is welcomed in the highest places of academia and religion today including the Pontifical University in Rome. One might see the utility of this framework of sanctified paranoia for the subjection of Christianity and ascendancy of Judaism and why Rabbi Rubenstein would like to bring it also to bear on Muslims. One might also note the absence of scholars positing that the Bolshevik revolution or Palestinian 'Nakba' (the persecution of the native population of Palestine that the Israeli state was founded on) constitutes a pivotal point which Judaism should be evaluated in reference to, much less the genesis of a religious dispensation.

Rabbi Rubenstein was a speaker at a recent "first Conference on Muslim Antisemitism" where he lamented that 'dialogue' with Muslims is unlikely to produce fruit such as Judeo-Christian 'dialogue' has produced in Vatican II:

A Vatican II form of “self-reflection” by prominent Islamic leaders is required in order to reduce tensions between Jews and Muslims, said Rabbi Richard Rubenstein, keynote speaker and author of the newly published “Jihad and Genocide” (Rowman & Littlefield). “I do not see this in Islam” ... “I don’t engage in dialogue” with Muslim representatives,” he said. “I think it’s a waste of time. It gives them a legitimacy in the United States that they do not deserve.”

On the other hand, said Rabbi Rubenstein, president emeritus of the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn., dialogue with Christians is “a realistic possibility. I’ve spent 50 years in a fruitful dialogue with Christians.”

A Muslim version of Vatican II, a first step to reducing Islamic anti-Semitism, is unlikely, several speakers agreed.

“Vatican II was based on some form of mea culpa,” a Catholic admission of guilt in fomenting anti-Semitism, said Andrew Bostom, editor of “Legacy of Jihad and Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism” (Prometheus, 2008). “Mea culpa is not on the [Islamic] radar screen.”

The trip was co-sponsored by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, a German think tank, and the Center for Interreligious Understanding, a New Jersey-based interfaith dialogue group.

Former Holocaust denier Yasir Qadhi, the dean of academics at Al Maghrib Institute in New Haven, Conn., said the trip was eye-opening.

"Anybody who is a Holocaust denier should deserve a free ticket to see Auschwitz and Birkenau," he told the Jewish Daily Forward, "because seeing is just not the same as reading about it.”

Storm knocks down tree outside famous attic.

The monumental chestnut tree that cheered Anne Frank while she was in hiding from the Nazis was toppled by wind and heavy rain on Monday.

The once mighty tree, now diseased and rotted through the trunk, snapped about 3 feet (1 meter) above ground and crashed across several gardens. It damaged a brick wall and several sheds, but nearby buildings — including the Anne Frank House museum — escaped unscathed. No one was injured, a museum spokeswoman said.

"Someone yelled, 'It's falling. The tree is falling,' and then you heard it go down," said museum spokeswoman Maatje Mostart. "Luckily no one was hurt."

A global campaign to save the chestnut, widely known as The Anne Frank Tree, was launched in 2007 after city officials deemed it a safety hazard and ordered it felled. The tree was granted a last-minute reprieve after a battle in court.

The 150-year-old tree suffered from fungus and moths that had caused more than half its trunk to rot.

Two years ago city workmen encased the trunk in a steel support system to prevent it from falling, but that failed under windy weather Monday.

The Netherlands' Trees Institute, one of the most prominent supporters of the preservation project, said it was "unpleasantly surprised" by the news of the tree's fall early Monday afternoon.

"On the advice of experts in tree care, it had been calculated that the tree could live several more decades" with the support structure, the institute said in a statement.

"Alas, in the event it seems that nature is stronger."

The institute said it didn't know why the support structure had failed.

Many clones of the tree have been taken, including 11 planted at sites around the United States and 150 at a park in Amsterdam. It is not clear whether a new tree will replace the original one on the same spot, since it rests on property belonging to a neighbor.

The Jewish teenager made several references to the tree in the diary that she kept during the 25 months she remained indoors until her family was arrested in August 1944.

"Nearly every morning I go to the attic to blow the stuffy air out of my lungs," she wrote on Feb. 23, 1944. "From my favorite spot on the floor I look up at the blue sky and the bare chestnut tree, on whose branches little raindrops shine, appearing like silver, and at the seagulls and other birds as they glide on the wind."

She also wrote: "As long as this exists, ... and I may live to see it, this sunshine, the cloudless skies — while this lasts I cannot be unhappy."

Anne Frank died of typhus in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in March 1945. Her diary was recovered and published after her death. It has become the most widely read document to emerge from the Holocaust.

Never again: Young journalists and seminarians gather to learn lessons of the Holocaust

This Wednesday (July 28) twelve Jewish, Christian and Muslim seminarians will join with three journalism students to begin a program aimed at exploring how their respective professions can derive valuable ethical lessons from the Jewish Holocaust of Nazi-era Germany.

Sponsored by the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the international learning event will send its participants to New York, Berlin and Poland (where the infamous Auschwitz network of extermination camps was located).

The students, all chosen by the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional [Talmudic, "Noahide"] Ethics (FASPE) will work with professors and religious leaders to develop a full curriculum planned to begin next summer.

Topics to be explored will involve the role priests played in the military at the time and in the Third Reich, how faith helped form the basis for resistance against the Nazis and how some non-Jews (honored by Israel as Righteous Among the Nations) risked their lives to save Jewish lives. The students will also examine the roles of Pope John XXIII and John Paul II (both of whom lived through the period) played in fighting anti-Semitism, as well as the nature of good and evil itself.

The participating seminarians (under the direction of faculty from Georgetown University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) include a nurse who is studying to be a hospital chaplain, Reform and Conservative rabbinical students, the director of the Islamic Cultural Center in Fresno, CA (who is studying to be an imam) and a Jesuit priest who is studying for a Ph.D in theology, among others.

Father John Langan, who is managing the seminarians involved in the program is the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Professor of Catholic Social Thought at Georgetown University and a member of the FASPE steering committee. He says he believes FASPE does important work because "it provides a lens that forces us to raise questions about institutional blindness."

Columbia University Professor Ari Goldman of Columbia University is leading the journalism side of the program which will focus on the role of the international and German media before and during the Holocaust. Goldman says "The way that we write about genocide, the way that we write about corruption, the way that we hold people accountable -- these are eternal lessons. So what happened then has lessons for all time."

Goldman notes that FASPE recently started a similar program for law and medical students. He says "The failures of the legal and medical profession during the Holocaust are well known. Lawyers were complicit in the murder of the Jews by enacting laws that went against the very purpose of the law: to protect the innocent, weak and fragile among us. Doctors violated medical ethics every day by experimenting on one people, sometimes in the name of science and other times out of cruelty. There was certainly enough human failure to go around. There are lessons for virtually every profession from the Nazi era. FASPE began with doctors and lawyers and it is now expanding to the clergy and to journalists."

The hope is that the overall FASPE program will equip future professionals with lessons from the past so that future holocausts and emerging tyrannies can be exposed and resisted.

NY Archbishop Dolan: "The Holocaust" "Demands" "Memory," "To Forget is Heretical"

When is the last time you heard a modern prelate mention the term, heresy, in its proper context, in relation to the perennial teachings of the Church?

In a recent ceremony commemorating Pope Benedict's visit to a synagogue during his U.S. visit in 2008, Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York spoke on the importance of Catholic-Jewish relations, stressing that the two must focus on their commonality and work together to preserve the “memory” of the faith.

Archbishop Dolan gave his remarks at the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at Park East Synagogue in New York City on April 22 ...

“Both of our traditions reverence memory,” he asserted. “'To forget' is disastrous, dangerous, and heretical. We both worry about an amnesia that seems a part of today’s existence, to live only for the now, unconscious of our roots, our foundations.”

“It is my hope that in the many years God may give me as Archbishop of New York, our Catholic-Jewish dialogue may be marked by a practice of 'memory' which never fails to hold us mutually accountable to the honesty and transparency demanded by the tragedy of the Holocaust, but also to a 'mutuality' of concern for each other which places our friendship first, and our grievances second. In fact, "our dialogue" is an arrangement in which one side "remembers" and expresses its grievances for which it offers no forgiveness while the other makes unending concessions from which even core beliefs are not spared. This is not dialogue and it's not friendship. It's enslavement.

Will traditionalists stand against the enslaving modernist dogma of Holocaustolatry which has been enshrined in the Catholic Church?
