Pharisaic 'Christmas'

Pictured is Bishop Oscar Cantu, of the Opus Pharisaei line of succession [he was consecrated by Opus 'Dei' Bishop José Horacio Gómez who we documented also lighting a menorah with Rabbi Aryeh Scheinberg HERE]. Rabbi Scheinberg expects this kind of slavish 'Noahidism' from his 'Christian' subordinates. Rabbi Scheinberg is 'Noahide' fanatic, John Hagee's handler.

We recently looked at the Pharisaic musings of the Opus 'Dei' prelate, Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz, who SSPX Superior Bp. Fellay's representatives have been 'dialoging' with for the past two years on the Vatican II documents HERE. In a news article published on the SSPX website it is reported that the rabbi-concocted Vatican II document, Nostra Aetate, was not even on the table in the two years of this 'dialogue.'

Bp. Fellay seems to favor a 'personal prelature,' the kind of arrangement Opus 'Dei' has.

From the San Fernando Cathedral bulletin:

SAN FERNANDO CATHEDRAL SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS JUNE 13, 2010

“Everyone is welcome to attend the Mass on Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 am, honoring St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, founder of Opus Dei."

The Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Oscar Cantú and concelebrated by Very Rev. Eduardo Castillo.

Following a profound spiritual retreat, Fr. Josemaría Escrivá founded Opus Dei in Madrid on 2 October 1928, opening a new way for the faithful to sanctify themselves in the midst of the world through their work and fulfillment of their personal, family and social duties. Fr. Josemaría Es- crivá de Balaguer helped numerous people discern vocations to the priesthood and religious life, both active and contemplative. In 1943, he founded the Priestly Society of the Holy Cross, an association inseparably united to Opus Dei, to which belong thousands of diocesan priests around the world.

Pope John Paul II proclaimed Josemaría Escrivá a saint on October 6, 2002. He told those present at the canonization, “ the founder of Opus Dei, Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, was chosen by the Lord to proclaim the universal call to holiness and to indicate that everyday life, its customary activities, are a path towards holiness. ... in the case of Opus Dei, to spread through every sector of society a deep awareness of the universal call to sanctity and apostolate, and more specifically of the sanctifying value of ordinary work.”

Judaic Activists Set Sail for the Cause of Tribal Universalism?

From Mondoweiss:

Transatlantic Jewish coalition set to break the siege of Gaza

Within days after the attack on the Mavi Marmara, European activists announced a Jewish Boat to sail in July from an undisclosed location in the Mediterranean, attempting to break the siege imposed by Israel in 2006. The boat is sponsored by a coalition of international Jewish organizations dedicated to peace with justice in Israel/Palestine, including the ''Jüdische Stimme'' (‘Jewish Voice’ for a Just Peace in the Near East), along with European Jews for a Just Peace in the Near East (EJJP) and Jews for Justice For Palestinians (UK). American Jews for a Just Peace (AJJP) will serve as the U.S. Coordinator, creating a transatlantic partnership. The small boat’s cargo will include school books, medicines and medical equipment.

Why a Jewish boat? Lots of reasons. The universal values contained in the ethical tradition of Judaism don’t include ‘Do unto others as was done unto us.’ For Jews to publicly confront the Israeli government’s policies of occupation, apartheid, and siege on a world stage highlights the political nature of the conflict and discredits those who insist on framing it strictly in ethnic and/or religious terms. I like best the answer from Glyn Secker, the Jewish Boat’s captain, a British Jew, and longtime activist with Jews for Justice for Palestinians in the UK: “As Jews we should stand as a beacon for human rights, not as an internationally known perpetrator of atrocities.”

This press release reveals a profound disconnect on many levels. There are no universal values in the two-tiered ethical traditions of Orthodox Judaism. More recent attempts at reform Judaism (which hardly constitute "the ethical* tradition of Judaism") are muddled at best in their concept of "Jewish universalism." Leave the work of reconciling tribalism with universalism to wand-waving alchemists, I say. This is crazy talk.

To the degree that this boat represents human individuals who truly thirst for justice for all people, it is good. To the degree that it represents a P.R. response to the shonda of the Mavi Marmara massacre for the rehabilitation of Orthodox Judaism, which is the basis for Zionist brutality, it's an ouroboros delusion.

The lie that Catholicism (which is, in fact, universalism: katholikos; katholou — throughout the whole, i.e., universal) "paved the road to Auschwitz" has been sustained for 60 years. It's long past due for Judaism (tribe of Judah-ism) to undergo equal scrutiny as Christianity and Islam. It's time that we freely examine how the canonized teaching of Orthodox Judaism "even the best of the Gentiles should be killed" and others of that sentiment have paved the road to "'Jewish' State" massacres in Palestine, Lebanon and in international waters. Let there be scrutiny of Judaism equal to that of Christianity and Islam. Apply standards universally, or stand guilty of tribal particularism.

* U.S. founding father, Thomas Jefferson, regarded the ethics of Judaism as degraded as have many other great thinkers who've studied the matter in depth.

NY Archbishop Dolan: "The Holocaust" "Demands" "Memory," "To Forget is Heretical"

When is the last time you heard a modern prelate mention the term, heresy, in its proper context, in relation to the perennial teachings of the Church?

In a recent ceremony commemorating Pope Benedict's visit to a synagogue during his U.S. visit in 2008, Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York spoke on the importance of Catholic-Jewish relations, stressing that the two must focus on their commonality and work together to preserve the “memory” of the faith.

Archbishop Dolan gave his remarks at the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at Park East Synagogue in New York City on April 22 ...

“Both of our traditions reverence memory,” he asserted. “'To forget' is disastrous, dangerous, and heretical. We both worry about an amnesia that seems a part of today’s existence, to live only for the now, unconscious of our roots, our foundations.”

“It is my hope that in the many years God may give me as Archbishop of New York, our Catholic-Jewish dialogue may be marked by a practice of 'memory' which never fails to hold us mutually accountable to the honesty and transparency demanded by the tragedy of the Holocaust, but also to a 'mutuality' of concern for each other which places our friendship first, and our grievances second. Our dialogue must never be reduced to one of exchanged grievances.” ("Archbishop Dolan: Catholics and Jews must work to preserve 'memory' of faith," Catholic News Agency, Apr 27, 2010)

In fact, "our dialogue" is an arrangement in which one side "remembers" and expresses its grievances for which it offers no forgiveness while the other makes unending concessions from which even core beliefs are not spared. This is not dialogue and it's not friendship. It's enslavement.

Will traditionalists stand against the enslaving modernist dogma of Holocaustolatry which has been enshrined in the Catholic Church?

Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein on Traditional Catholicism

"There still is resistance to the new teachings in some traditional Catholic circles, still much work to be done to erase old ideas." (Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein, "The Catholic Church and the Jews," Cross-Currents, July 3, 2009)

http://www.cross-currents.com/archives/2009/07/03/the-catholic-church-and-the-jews/

Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein is director of Interfaith Affairs for the Simon Wiesenthal Center of Holocaustolatry* [see footnote]. He holds a chair at Loyola Law School where he teaches Talmudic Law and Ethics, no-doubt, the Noahide version, with emphasis on 'Holocaust' guilt.

In late January 2009, Rabbi Adlerstein, appealing to Zionist propaganda, attempted to associate the SSPX and the medieval Catholic Church with terrorism writing: "the entire network of the Society of Saint Pius X are vocal enthusiasts of a medieval religious anti-Semitism that gives the Islamist imams in Pakistan some serious competition."

http://www.wiesenthal.com/site/apps/nlnet/content2.aspx?c=lsKWLbPJLnF&b=4441467&ct=6711177

Those who think outside of the Zionist television box will know that Rabbi Adlerstein's smear is in reality quite weak. There is no competition for the 'holy' racist terrorism of counterfeit Israel which was taking place at the very time that Adlerstein penned his anti-Catholic terrorism-association smear. See:

Israelis told to fight 'holy war' in Gaza

It seems that hypocrisy, double standards, obfuscation and projection are defining traits of Rabbi Adlerstein, which is no surprise as these are defining traits of his religion, Orthodox Judaism.

Such shame that Rabbi Adlerstein and the Wiesenthal center of Holocaustolatry were successful in coercing the 'cleansing' of SSPX websites and bookstores and pressuring 'cleasing' of the traditional liturgy of the Church even as the rabbi admits the anti-Christian anti-humanity contents of his Talmud and rouses 'Jews' not to cleanse these hateful texts and traditions, but to defend them. See:

Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein Rouses Talmud Apologists

If only there were some Catholics who would defend the truth as strongly as Rabbi Adlerstein defends his lies.

Footnote: The 'Holocaust'-centered idolatry of the Wiesenthal Center is plain in the quote from its founder: "When each of us comes before the Six Million, we will be asked what we did with our lives." (Simon Wiesenthal as quoted in Wiesenthal Center magazine, Response, Vol. 20, No. 1) Needless to say, it's not 'the six million' that Wiesenthal and his comrades must face in judgment. What kind of Catholic would not correct this pitiful delusion, but instead make changes to Catholic liturgy and teaching to accommodate those who propagate it?

Noahide Initiation for Catholic Kids

Catholic schools send their students to the wolves.

Interfaith Seder demystifies Judaism's link to Christianity

04/15/2008

Passover may be a Jewish observance, but about 60 Catholic high school students broke unleavened bread Tuesday night at an interfaith Seder that explored Christianity's connection to the Judaic tradition.

The goal was to "demystify" Judaism by linking it to the Last Supper of Jesus, which many scholars believe was itself a Passover celebration.

"Christians should understand just how Jewish Jesus was," said Rabbi Isaac Jeret of Congregation Ner Tamid in Rancho Palos Verdes, where the Seder was held. "That is extremely important, because it's hard to find any hate in your heart for the people for whom the son of God is a part."

The interfaith Seder had a traditional service, complete with bitter herbs, lamb shanks and reading of the Haggadah, the prayer book for Passover.

This is the second year the synagogue has invited the students, who attend St. John Fisher, Mary Star of the Sea and St. Margaret Mary schools in the South Bay and Harbor Area ...

"It's important to remember that we are connected in so many ways," said Bob Rothman, the event organizer and a member of Congregation Ner Tamid.

The Seder is one of many events the synagogue has held in conjunction with Christian churches over the years, the rabbi said.

"We've seen an incredible opening of dialogue and understanding between the Christian community and the Jewish community over the last 40 to 45 years," he said.

"I think this event is very important to help younger generations bridge that gap, really to institutionalize understanding of other faiths to younger generations."

Pharisaic Self-Redemption

From the website of the Pharisees of the 21st century Sanhedrin:
Recently, the Jewish people have begun to reassert their rights to the Temple Mount ...

This year in Jerusalem, the Sanhedrin Initiative is calling upon the Jewish people in Israel and throughout the world to participate in the Korban Pesach. The Sanhedrin Initiative will choose sheep to be offered in the Korban Pesach, and all preparations will be made in the expectation that we can renew this ancient, traditional offering ...

We realize that this approach is as controversial as it is courageous; passivity always appears the safer course, even if appearances are deceiving. The controversy is part of a fundamental debate whether the Jewish people must passively await their redemption which will be a one-shot deal or they are enjoined to make preparations ... to prepare the stage for their redemption. If you subscribe to the second approach, then one can hardly find a cause more worthy than restoring the Korban Pesach to its pride of place as a symbol of Jewish unity.

http://korbanpesach.org/en/korban/pesach_now

The self-worshiping neoPharisees of the 21st century Sanhedrin leave no doubt as to which approach they take to redemption.

Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz who heads the above mentioned Sanhedrin recently spoke at a Vatican conference where he seemed to gloat:

Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, noted that ... the Catholic Church was in an "almost impossible" position when it came to dealing with the Jews. "It's very hard to be somebody's heir when he's still alive," Steinsaltz told the audience of academics, students and Catholic and Jewish representatives.

While saying he was hopeful for more progress in improving relations, the rabbi - a noted scholar and founder of several Talmudic institutions in Israel and Russia - said there was a reason for the strain between Catholics and Jews. "Basically, monotheistic religions cannot be tolerant," he said. "When you speak about truth ... Can you speak about two truths?" ("Vatican: Jews Are Our Brothers," Rome, Oct. 22, 2005 Associated Press)

Putting aside the fact that rabbinic Judaism is neither monotheistic or a religion, it is interesting to see the Nasi of the 21st century Sanhedrin speak at the Vatican with a tone of authority on the topic of singular truth (disingenuously, of course. Judaism is as relativistic as it gets). I can't recall any Pope speaking in such a way in the past 50 years.

Kosher Catholic Exegesis

EDITORS NOTE: Since the rabbis have only one flimsy document, Nostra Aetate, to build their Noachide church upon, others must be created.

Synod outline says Bible is source of Christian unity, bond with Jews

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- The Bible is a source of Christian unity and is evidence of Christianity's special bond with the Jewish people, said the outline for the next world Synod of Bishops.

The theme of the synod, scheduled Oct. 5-26, 2008, will be: "The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church."

... Christianity and Judaism are "grounded in the same covenant, because God, who is always faithful to his promises, has not revoked the first covenant" with the Jewish people, it said.

Croatian Archbishop Nikola Eterovic, secretary-general of the Synod of Bishops, told reporters, "We would be happy if everyone said this is no longer a problem, but it is a question that must be asked."

"Our relationship with the Jewish people is very special, and we hope every shadow of anti-Semitism has disappeared," he said.

The archbishop said his office had not begun drawing up a list of the guests who will be invited to the synod, but he did not rule out the possibility of inviting a Jewish representative along with the delegates from other Christian churches. Such guests participate but do not vote at the synods.

The outline specifically asked bishops to report on any incidents in which the Scriptures are misused "to ferment attitudes of anti-Semitism," a problem usually associated with readings about the passion of Jesus and the role of the Jewish leaders of his time.

Fighting anti-Semitism will be among issues discussed at the world summit of Catholic bishops next year, according to The Associated Press. Pope Benedict XVI has recently approved a 60-page document that asks bishops to examine sacred texts and how they may be misconstrued to promote anti-Jewish sentiments.

The need to step up the fight against anti-Semitism will be a key issue for the world's Roman Catholic bishops at a meeting at the Vatican next year.

An entire section of a preparatory document released by the Vatican on Friday is devoted to the Church's relationship with Jews, noting the "close associations of the two in faith" and calling for efforts "to overcome every form of anti-Semitism."

The 60-page document, which was approved by Pope Benedict XVI, outlines the suggested topics and includes a questionnaire to be answered by local bishops.

After asking if priority is given to dialogue with the Jews, the questionnaire calls on bishops to investigate the use of biblical texts to "ferment attitudes of anti-Semitism."

"Much has already been done, but everything must be done to dispel every shadow," the
synod's general-secretary, Bishop Nikola Eterovic, said during a news conference to present the agenda for the October 2008 meeting.

Papal Commission Promotes Noahide Laws

EDITOR'S NOTE: Now we see where all of this dialogue with the rabbis has been leading. Here is a document produced by a joint committee of the Papal Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews and the Chief Rabbinate of "Israel" which promotes the rabbi-fabricated "Noahide Laws" and which outrageously suggests that these laws have a Biblical basis, not only in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament as well. Out of thin air, the pretext is drawn for adoption of Talmudic "Noahide Laws" by Christians.

Also note that this promotion of "Noahide Law" is the product of the seventh meeting of the joint commission (there are seven "Noahide Laws").

More information on the "Noahide Laws" can be found here:

http://mauricepinay.blogspot.com/2007/03/chabad-lubavitch-rabbi-to-congress.html

Academic consideration is given to the 'Noahide laws' as means of 'reconciliation' between Christianity and rabbinic Judaism at the Ponifical Gregorian University at Rome HERE.

Jewish-Catholic Commission Meeting Report

"Moral Relativism Poses a Serious Threat to Humanity"

ROME, MARCH 20, 2007 (Zenit.org).- Here is the text of the conclusions from the bilateral commission meeting of the Catholic and Jewish delegations dedicated to improving relations between the two religions.

* * *

The Delegation of the Holy See's Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel's Delegation for Relations with the Catholic Church -- Bilateral Commission Meeting,

Jerusalem, March 11-13, 2007; Adar 21-23, 5767

1. At the seventh meeting of the above commission, held in Jerusalem, the chairmen Cardinal Jorge Mejía and Chief Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen noted the significance of the number seven within the biblical tradition as indicating fullness and maturity. They expressed the hope that the fullness of the relationship between the Catholic and the Jewish members of this commission will be a source of blessing to both faith communities and the world at large.

Cardinal Mejía also noted the recent passing of Cardinal Johannes Willebrands former president of the Holy See's Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews and a central figure in the historic transformation in Catholic-Jewish relations. May his memory always be for us a blessing.

2. The subject of the meeting was the "Freedom of Religion and Conscience and its Limits." The human capacity to choose is a manifestation of the divine image in which all people are created (cf. Gen 1:26-27) and is foundational for the biblical concept of human responsibility and divine justice (cf. Deut 30:19).

3. God has created the human person as a social being which, by definition, places limits on individual human freedom. Moreover freedom of choice is derived from God and therefore is not absolute, but must reflect divine will and law. Accordingly human beings are called to freely obey the divine will as manifested in Creation and in his revealed word.

Jewish tradition emphasizes the Noachide Covenant (cf. Gen 9:9-12) as containing the universal moral code which is incumbent on all humanity. This idea is reflected in Christian scripture in the book of Acts 15:28-29.

4. Accordingly the idea of moral relativism is antithetical to this religious worldview and poses a serious threat to humanity. Even though the Enlightenment helped bring about a purification from the abuse of religion, secular society still requires religious foundations to sustain lasting moral values. Critical among these is the principal of the sanctity of human life and dignity. Ethical monotheism affirms these as inviolable human rights and therefore can provide inspiration in this regard for society at large.

5. While on principle the state should not at all limit freedom of religion for individuals and communities nor of moral conscience, it has the responsibility to guarantee the wellbeing and security of society. Accordingly it is obliged to intervene wherever and whenever a threat is posed by the promotion, teaching or exercise of violence and specifically terrorism and psychological manipulation in the name of religion.

6. In addition to respecting the freedom of religious choices, the integrity of faith communities should also be guaranteed. Accordingly it is legitimate for a society with a predominant religious identity to preserve its character, as long as this does not limit the freedom of minority communities and individuals to profess their alternative religious commitments, nor to limit their full civil rights and status as citizens, individuals and communities. This obliges us all to safeguard the integrity and dignity of holy sites, places of worship and cemeteries of all religious communities.

7. In the course of history, religious communities have not always been faithful to these values. Therefore there is a special obligation upon religious leaders and communities to prevent the improper use of religion and to educate towards respect for diversity which is essential in order to ensure a healthy, stable and peaceful society.

In this regard, there is a special role for families, schools and the authorities of state and society as well as the media to impart these values to future generations.

In conclusion the bilateral commission having met in the Holy City of Jerusalem, expressed the prayer that the Almighty would bless and inspire both religious and political leaders in the region and beyond, to work determinedly to promote peace, dignity, security and tranquility in the Holy Land for all its peoples and for the world as a whole.

[The Sanhedrin] hopes to impose Jewish law on the Jewish people and the seven "Noahide" laws -- prohibitions on theft, murder, blasphemy and others, based on Jewish teaching -- on Gentile nations.

http://www.beliefnet.com/story/214/story_21456_1.html

A ... goal of the ... Sanhedrin's efforts in regard to the Noahide community, is to "transform the Noahide movement from a religious phenomenon - a curiosity many have not heard of - into a powerful international movement that can successfully compete with, and with G-d's help bring about the fall of, any (other) religious movement ..."

Backpeddling Bishops

German cardinal sorry for ghetto
remarks

By Eli Ashkenazi

The head of the German Bishops Conference conceded that some statements made by members on a recent visit to Israel and the West Bank were "inappropriate." Cardinal Karl Lehmann responded a few days ago to a letter sent to him by Avner Shalev, chairman of the Yad Vashem Martyrs and Heroes Remembrance Authority, protesting a statement made a short time after the group visited Yad Vashem earlier this month, and then traveled to Ramallah. "In the morning we saw the Warsaw Ghetto and now it's the Ramallah Ghetto," one of the bishops said.

"In light of the painful reality of the separation fence," Lehman wrote in his letter to Shalev, "some of the members of the delegation said harsh tings, some of which were not appropriate." In his letter Lehmann reiterated the heavy responsibility the German people bear due to the Holocaust, and that even those who expressed themselves harshly recognized Israel's right to defend itself. He said the bishop who made the statement had no intention to compare the past and the present and wrote, "It is impossible to compare current problems with the murder of the Jewish people."

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/835442.html

Well it's a relief to see the errors of those uppity German Bishops corrected. They did originally demonstrate a proper understanding of the holy doctrine of "'Israel's' right to exist," but their comparison of "Jewish" suffering to the suffering of the Palestinians was way beyond the pale! Good Heavens! "Jews" have the Neshama; ie. the "glorious soul" which is a "part of God above." The Palestinians (and the rest of us non-"Jews," for that matter) do not have the Neshama. Palestinians only have the Nephesh, or animal soul, which derives from the impure, demonic Kelifa (ie. shells). Therefore, any comparison of Palestinian suffering to that of the "Jews" is an outrageous sacrilege. And perhaps in this context we can understand why Benedict XVI, in his speech at Auschwitz last year stated that the Nazis, "tried to kill God."

Wouldn't it be interesting to know exactly how the correction of the German Bishops' rhetoric came about so quickly. We can safely assume that it was deafening screeching from the ADL, WJC, AJC, EJC, Simon Weisenthal Center, Yad Vashem, and various other Judaic power organizations which initiated the change. But who in Rome made the decision, and how was it handed down? Was it rabbi Walter Cardinal Kasper, president of the Pontifical Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews who handled the matter? And what will the Bishops' penance be? A pilgrimage to the Holy Site of Auschwitz on their hands and knees? I'll be watching closely. Time will tell.

Find a "Catholic" Seder at a Parish Near You

Since the late 1960's, every Lent, naive Catholics all around the world have been hoodwinked into "celebrating Passover like Jesus did" by reciting Talmudic benedictions and engaging in Talmudic ritual from the rabbinic tradition which Christ condemned as the "tradition of the elders" which "makes God's Word of no effect."

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops sez: "Seders arranged at or in cooperation with local synagogues are encouraged."

Bishops Operate Zionist Safety Valve

EDITOR'S NOTE: Already "truth seekers" have seized upon this article as evidence that Rome represents some kind of opposition to Zionism. This is laughable. The German Bishops are only briefly opening the safety valve and releasing some of the pressure which has built up in Europe due to ever increasing awareness of, and anger with Zionist warmongering and brutality.

What criticism do the Bishops level here that wasn't true decades before the Vatican acknowledged and opened relations with "Israel"? Compare this with the position of Pope St. Pius X who refused to acknowledge the Zionist movement before "Israel's" atrocities even began. Pope St. Pius X's rejection of Zionism was theological. He said that he could not state otherwise than to reject Zionism. This needs to be understood.

Note that in the midst of all the "harsh criticism" by the German Bishops one of the fundamental tenets of Zionist propaganda is upheld: "'Israel's' right to exist." But Pope St. Pius X stated that Catholics could never sanction the Zionist movement. Which is the true Catholic position?

These German Bishops are no opposition to Zionism and their criticisms won't make a bit of difference. Catholics need to begin to understand that the notion that the anti-Biblical, warmongering, racial supremacist little state that calls itself "Israel" "has a right to exist" on someone else's land is absolutely contrary to Catholicism.

Bishops equate Israel's actions to Holocaust

Hours after historic visit to Jerusalem holocaust museum, group of German bishops tour Palestinian Authority, say Israel behaving like Nazis

Eldad Beck Published: 03.06.07, 10:24 / Israel News

BERLIN - "This morning we saw pictures of the Warsaw ghetto at Yad Vashem and this evening we are going to the Ramallah ghetto." Several hours earlier on Sunday you probably would not have heard German Bishop Gregor Maria Franz Hanke choose such a divisive analogy.

But then on Sunday morning he was still in Israel and the rhetoric was considerably different than the one elected by the German Bishops' Conference once they crossed over in to the Palestinian Authority on Sunday evening.
The visit of 27 members of the German Bishops' Conference to Israel included a historic first-time visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial museum in Jerusalem as well as guided tours of sites holy to Christianity and meetings with Christian congregations in Israel and in the Palestinian Authority.

During their time in Israel the bishops uniformly made moderate and balanced statements, but once in the PA they provided German reporters accompanying them with a plethora of harsh proclamations against Israel. Their criticism received widespread coverage in the German media on Monday.

While crossing one of the checkpoints into East Jerusalem the Archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal Joachim Meisner, told reporters: "This is something that is done to animals, not people." Meisner, a resident of eastern Germany, said that the fence reminded him of the Berlin Wall and that in his lifetime he did not believe he would see such a thing again. As the Berlin Wall was brought down so will this wall be brought down, he said, adding that the fence served no purpose.

The delegation's visit to Ramallah took place several hours after their visit to Yad Vashem and several of the bishops chose to equate the situation in the Palestinian Authority with the Holocaust.

"Cages in the image of ghettos," said the Bishop of Augsburg of the territories. Augsburg was once under the spiritual leadership of Pope Benedict XVI, who was Archbishop of the Munich-Freising Archdiocese and his brother Monsignor Georg Ratzinger still resides there.

"Israel has, of course, the right to exist, but this right cannot be realized in such a brutal manner," said Bishop Hanke, who later stated that he intends to amend this year's Easter message to German churches so as to include the delegation's political impressions from their visit to the territories and a demand to change the situation.

THE CHURCH RELUCTANT

THE CHURCH RELUCTANT

By

Father Christopher Hunter

In his famous speech of March 23, 1775 in which Patrick Henry called for death as the only realistic alternative to liberty, he used an excellent phrase which, regrettably, has been forgotten. In attempting to rally his listeners Henry referred to our “temporal salvation.” This phrase not only succinctly states that there is such an order worthy of our serious attention, but prompts us to realize that we are obligated to work for the preservation of that order into which we have been born. And we are in as much danger of losing it as we are our eternal salvation.

Since the temporal not only precedes the eternal but is the medium through which we work out our salvation, it not only is important but, in fact, becomes the means by which our state in eternity is determined. To argue that the eternal order is of greater importance precisely because it is eternal is not to weaken the argument. By analogy, it might be pointed out that the primary purpose of marriage is the procreation of children. Its secondary ends of allaying concupiscence, material support and companionship are not thereby rendered unimportant because they do not fall under its primary end.

Yet it is the singularly odd mentality of Christians including, I’m sorry to say, traditionally-minded Catholics, to minimize the significance of, or ignore altogether, the temporal order God has placed us in as if, not being eternal, it has lost any right to be considered important. As a result, Christians have, with rare exception, neglected duties to this same order resulting in both disastrous and scandalous consequences to Christianity. And that very negligence has brought the West to the precipice of utter ruin. Were we better versed in Catholic social doctrine we would quickly recognize this error as a kind of neo-Quietism.

We often hear about the “struggle” going on in the world between the forces of good and the forces of evil. Yet this struggle is illusory to be sure for in order that there be contention there must exist two or more opposing forces. There is not however, in the world today, such opposition for those who would otherwise comprise the camp of the “good” have abdicated from their temporal duties and, instead, use religion as a kind of shrubbery to hide behind, appealing to the need for prayer and goodness as the wholly complete solution to our social ills.

But our Catholic Faith is not rendered complete by prayer, pious devotions and pilgrimages. The Catholic Faith, of necessity, encompasses the material order as men are not able to be devout unless there exists an ordered and peaceful social structure through which they are able to contemplate God, their relationship to Him and the duties that flow from the consequent understanding of that relationship. Whether we realize it or not society itself is a divine institution for order and tranquility are not accidental elements which have mysteriously evolved through random chance but have come from the guiding Providence of Almighty God who, first through the Natural Law, and later through the illumination of the Holy Ghost, has inspired Catholic thinkers over the centuries to explicitate that order most conducive to the working out of one’s salvation.

What is the Church on earth but the corporeal aspect of the Mystical Body of Christ? Yet how will men accomplish their primary end of saving their souls if that same structure is disrupted by the attacks and harassments of Satan’s agents? To ask God to protect us is to be guilty of tempting God for man has been given dominion over the material order. Men erect governments, not God. Therefore, men are expected to administer those things he has built which includes expending the necessary effort to protect them from those forces who see their destruction as advantageous to their designs of overturning Christian society.

To ask God’s help is expected but there is a vast difference between requesting assistance and asking God to do our job for us. The “pray and be good” Christian therefore becomes an obstacle to the restoration of a Christian Social Order and any movement to establish Christ as King. These people forget that prayer is the foundation of action. A foundation is a beginning, a first step, to something else. Upon a foundation a structure is built. Upon the foundation of prayer and personal holiness will be built a Catholic order to the extent that men work for that end – and work to protect it from attack.

That the enemies of both church and state are winning country after country and neutralizing the Catholic Church can only be accounted for by two possible explanations: either the enemy is operating in accordance with higher principles than those of Christianity or good men are doing nothing. As Jean Ousset points out in his book Action:

“Far from manifesting a lack of divine justice, the constant progress of subversion shows how God respects the causality of the world He has made, by not denying the normal fruit of their labors even to the impious.”

As a final observation, let it be said that those who avoid their temporal duties are guilty in their private lives of doing what the Church forbids in public life-separating Church and State.
I will close with the following account again taken from Ousset:

“It is recorded that when the last Moorish King of Granada was leaving the city to go into exile, he paused on the mountain pass to look back at his beloved Palace of the Alhambra and wept at the thought of what he had lost. But his mother said to him bitterly: ‘You do well, son, to weep like a woman over what you did not have the will and the tenacity to defend like a man.’”

“Let us take care that we also do not merit a similar stern reproach.”

The Judaic Propensity to Have It Both Ways

While Jewish communal leaders focus most of their current lobbying efforts on pressing the United States to take a tough line against Iran and its nuclear program, some are privately voicing fears that they will be accused of driving America into a war with the regime in Tehran.

http://www.forward.com/articles/groups-fear-public-backlash-over-iran/

There is one very simple way for Judaic leaders to avoid accusations that they're driving the U.S. into a war against Iran--stop driving the U.S. into a war with Iran.

But that simply won't do. They want to drive the U.S. into war on Iran, and, they want to do so free of accusations that they're driving the U.S. into a war on Iran, even though that's exactly what they're doing. They want it both ways.

It's rather similar to how the rabbis lobby Christian leaders to revise the Gospel to state that the Romans--and not the judges of the Sanhedrin--were responsible for Christ's execution, even as the rabbis' own texts record their gloating over their forebears' responsibility for Christ's execution to the degree that they relieve the Romans completely of responsibility. (Babylonian Talmud, tractate Sanhedrin 43a).

The American Jewish Committee issued an "inter-office memo" on the topic on their website in 2003 and then removed it quickly afterwards.

Jesus in the Talmud

September 24, 2003 Steven Bayme, National Director, Contemporary Jewish Life Department

... Consider ... the following text from the Talmud:

On the eve of Passover Jesus was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, "He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Anyone who can say anything in his favor let him come forward and plead on his behalf." But since nothing was brought forward in his favor, he was hanged on the eve of Passover. Ulla retorted: Do you suppose he was one for whom a defense could be made? Was he not a mesith (enticer), concerning whom Scripture says, "Neither shall thou spare nor shall thou conceal him?" With Jesus, however, it was different, for he was connected with the government. (Sanhedrin 43a)

This text, long censored in editions of the Talmud, is concerned primarily with due process in capital crimes. Standard process requires that punishment be delayed for forty days in order to allow extenuating evidence to be presented. However, in extreme cases, such as seducing Israel into apostasy, this requirement is waived. The case of Jesus, according to the Talmud, constituted an exception to this rule. Although one who enticed Israel into apostasy is considered an extreme case, the Jews at the time waited forty days because of the close ties of Jesus to the Roman authorities. However, once the forty days elapsed without the presentation of favorable or extenuating comment about him, they proceeded to kill him on the eve of Passover.

... the Talmud is here offering a subtle commentary upon Jesus' political connections. The Gospels portray the Roman governor Pontius Pilate as going to great lengths to spare Jesus (Mark 15: 6-15). Although this passage may well have been written to appease the Roman authorities and blame the Jews, the Talmudic passage points in the same direction: The Jews waited forty days, in a departure from the usual practice, only because Jesus was close to the ruling authorities.

Lastly, the passage suggests rabbinic willingness to take responsibility for the execution of Jesus. No effort is made to pin his death upon the Romans. In all likelihood, the passage in question emanates from fourth-century Babylon, then the center of Talmudic scholarship, and beyond the reach of both Rome and Christianity. Although several hundred years had elapsed since the lifetime of Jesus, and therefore this is not at all a contemporary source, the Talmudic passage indicates rabbinic willingness to acknowledge, at least in principle, that in a Jewish court and in a Jewish land, a real-life Jesus would indeed have been executed ...

The article is not entirely honest, but it does make interesting reading, particularly in contrast with the one-sided "dialogue" taking place between the rabbis and Christian leaders: dialogue which has for nearly a century been directed towards rectification of the alleged Christian "teaching of contempt" but which never seems to get around to discussion of the very real and very contemptuous Judaic teachings of contempt. But since when have the rabbis ever applied standards evenly?

The objection inevitably arises that the Jesus of Nazareth mentioned in Sanhedrin 43a is not the Savior of Christianity but "some some other Jesus of Nazareth." The Jewish Encyclopedia dismisses that silly notion handily:

"... some medieval apologists for Judaism, as Nachmanides and Salman Zebi, ... [asserted] that the "Yeshu'" mentioned in the Talmud was not identical with Jesus; this, however, is merely a subterfuge. (Jewish Encyclopedia, "Jesus of Nazareth")

Vatican Analyst in Bed with ADL

EDITOR'S NOTE: When you see talking head, John L. Allen Jr. reporting on Vatican matters be aware that you are hearing ADL approved propaganda, which would be the case with any establishment media analyst, anyhow. Also note that the tyrant clown, Abraham Foxman, not content with having the U.S. media in it's totality in his pocket, has directed his psychosis toward blogs.

Vatican Expert Addressed ADL Meeting; Current Anti-Semitism, Anti-Israel Action Explored

New York, NY, February 15, 2007 … Catholic-Jewish relations and current trends in anti-Semitism and anti-Israel action were among the topics on the agenda as the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) convened its annual National Executive Committee Meeting, February 8-10, 2007 in Palm Beach, Florida.

John L. Allen Jr., an author, journalist and foremost expert on Vatican relations, delivered a keynote address examining the powerful forces of global change that promise to reshape the Catholic Church in the 21st Century under the leadership of Pope Benedict XVI, and the implications for the Jewish community.

Mr. Allen, Senior Correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter and the author of "The Rise of Pope Benedict XVI: The Inside Story of How the Pope Was Elected and Where He will Take the Catholic Church," outlined 10 "Mega-Trends" that he believes could play a fundamental role in the future of the Church's interfaith outreach efforts to Jews, including the rise of extremist Islam and its expanding influence in the Middle East, the secularization of Europe, and the burgeoning Catholic population in the southern hemisphere, including Latin America and Africa.

The League's highest policymaking body also heard from Rabbi Riccardo Shmuel Di Segni, the Chief Rabbi of Rome, who discussed concerns within the Italian Jewish community about anti-Semitism and the rise of far-right parties in Europe. Rabbi Di Segni said the Italian Jewish community is working to forge new working relationships with the new Italian government and the new papacy in Rome.

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, discussed how the Internet may be a major factor in growing anti-Semitism around the world. "I'm becoming convinced more and more every day that the reason anti-Semitism is out there more is this superhighway, this transmitter belt," Mr. Foxman said. "These blogs circulate it and reinforce it, and so there's more of it."

It should also be noted that John L. Allen Jr. penned a whitewash of the Opus Judei lodge titled, Opus Dei, which is touted by the establishment as the "definitive" work on the organization.

600 Clergymen Visit the Six Pointed State

Catholic clergy make pilgrimage to Israel

JTA

Some 600 Catholic clergymen and church officials are on a four-day pilgrimage to Israel.

The tour, sponsored and hosted by the Israeli Tourism Ministry, is led by Archbishop of Paris Andre Vingt-Trois.

On Monday night, the archbishop participated in a symposium at Tel Aviv University on ethics and security in the 21st century along with Israeli Chief Sephardi Rabbi Shlomo Amar, university President Itamar Rabinovich and World Jewish Congress official Rabbi Israel Singer.

Rabinovich told the gathering that he hoped to see an increase in visits by French Catholic organizations to Israel.

During the war with Hezbollah last summer, almost all non-Jewish groups and individuals scheduled to visit Israel canceled, including Catholic church groups.

The pilgrimage includes a visit to the Galilee, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and a meeting with Palestinian Catholic officials.

A Vatican Lesson on Shekinah Echoed by Scott Hahn

Learning about the faith of our "elder brothers in the faith."

In 2000, the Vatican published a document on it's website written by a woman named Lea Sestieri titled, "The Jewish Roots of the Holy Spirit."

The Hadassah Research Institute on Jewish Women gives some background on Lea Sestieri:

... an Italian Jewish woman completed her studies at the rabbinical college. Of course, she did not become a rabbi as this was not yet possible in an orthodox community. But the rabbis invented a degree for her. Her name is Lea Sestieri. She is one of our most prominent Bible scholars and she has been teaching for many years at a Vatican college.
http://www.brandeis.edu/hbi/pubs/Epsteinworkingpaper.pdf

From Lea Sestieri's document titled, "The Jewish Roots of the Holy Spirit:"

The «Guide for a correct presentation of Jews and the Jewish religion in the Preaching and Catechesis of the Catholic Church» (1985), encourages Christians to acquire a more respectful and adequate knowledge of the common heritage of Christians and Jews because this knowledge «can help them better understand certain aspects of the life of the Church» ...

Although in Jewish scripture the Holy Spirit is never presented as a person but rather as a divine power capable of transforming the human being and the world, the fact remains that Christian pneumatological terminology is rooted in that of the Jewish religion. In preaching and Catechesis therefore it will be necessary to point out this connection, underlining the main aspects.

http://www.vatican.va/jubilee_2000/magazine/documents/ju_mag_01021998_p-24_en.html

Later in the document some of the pneumatological terminology (terminology pertaining to spirit) of "the Jewish religion" which Christian pneumatological terminology is said by Lea Sestieri to be rooted in is listed:

Rabbinical thought starts with the Spirit as Spirit of Prophecy which ceases as such with Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi (Yoma 9b) and it is then recognized as charismatic inspiration and is promised to scholars. The Mishnah speaks of the spirit as something, which can be attained by man though different spiritual stages (see appendix). Never in rabbinical texts is the Spirit considered as an entity separate from God, even though at times it is used as synonymous with God and inter-changeable with Shekinah (majesty of God present among men and in nature; immanence.

Hebrew philosophy likens the Spirit to the rabbinical Shekinah (Filone), to the Glory of God (Jehudah HaLevi); while Maimonide describes it as the inspiration of the divine Intellect (emanated by God upon prophets) and Nahmanide, regarding Gn 2,7 stresses «It is the spirit of the great name from whose mouth comes knowledge and intelligence». (Perushe hatorah 1,33).

The Mysticism of Rhenish Hassidism (12th-13th century) refers again to the Glory «it is the great splendour called Shekinah and therefore identical to the Spirit of Holiness from which come the voice and the word of God». The Zohar (1,15a) shows that it is thanks to the Spirit that the world was created, in as much as it is the emanation of this light, splendid and primordial point as it had already been described by the philosopher Saadia (9th century).

In this last century Idealism rediscovers the absolute Spirit as the name for the absolute «I». F. Rosenzweig, referring to creation, underlines «the spirit of the Covenant of Gn l, 2 as something tending to depersonalization, that is to greater transcendence». A Neher defines it an absolute principle of revelation. Lastly the divine Spirit is considered to be that which represents the inseparable relation between God and man (Herman Cohen).

http://www.vatican.va/jubilee_2000/magazine/documents/ju_mag_01021998_p-24_en.html

So this is not at all a lecture on the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament religion related to the New, which is what most people would take Lea Sestieri's vague terms, "Jewish Scripture" and "the Jewish religion" to suggest. This is a lesson on the non-Biblical Talmudic, Kabbalistic and modern Judaic philosophical traditions encompassing developments from the 1st through the 12-13th and even 20th centuries, well after the Christian understanding of the Holy Spirit was defined.

Now for the parts that Judaic Vatican college professor, Lea Sestieri left out.

The Judaic Shekinah has a racist preference for "Israel," and according to certain Pantheistic Judaic schools of thought, the Shekinah is the Judaic people themselves:

Though the presence of God is everywhere, the Shekhinah rests preeminently on Israel rather than on the gentiles (Ber. 7a; Shab. 22b; Num. R. 7:8). For Israel is a people chosen and sanctified by God to be carriers of His will to the world ...

... it said that even while Israel is unclean the Shekhinah is with them (Yoma, 56b); when they are exiled it goes into exile with them, and when they come to be redeemed the Shekhinah will be redeemed too (Meg. 29a)...

In the 19th century Nachman Krochmal interpreted Shekhinah as pure spiritual power. Krochmal's philosophy of history, which is based on Hegel, asserts that every nation has a spiritual power, and that the Jewish people has the spiritual power in its purest form which is directly rooted in the Absolute Spirit. This spiritual power of the Jews is called Shekhinah (Moreh Nevukhei ha-Zeman, ch. 7), and this notion explains the rabbinic sayings that wherever the Jews wandered the Shekhinah wandered" ...

In kabbalistic theology the Shekhinah is the divine principle of the people of Israel. Everything that happens to Israel in the earthly world is therefore reflected upon the Shekhinah who waxes and wanes with every good deed and every sin of each individual Jew and the people as a whole; on the other hand, everything that happens to the Shekhinah ... is reflected in the status of Israel in the earthly world ... (Encyclopaedia Judaica, "Shekinah")

The Judaic Shekinah is also feminine. Those aware of EWTN favorite and Opus Judei lodge brother, Scott Hahn's insane mutterings will be familiar with this non-Biblical concept. The question in my mind is why haven't any of those who've challenged Scott Hahn on this absurd notion of his traced it back to it's Talmudic/Kabbalistic/Hermetic root? Many of Hahn's inquisitors fancy themselves experts on Judaism. They quite obviously are nothing of the sort.

The basic elements of the kabbalistic concept of the Shekhinah are found in the earliest kabbalistic work, the Sefer ha-Bahir, where the Shekhinah, or Malkhut, is described as the daughter, the princess, the feminine principle in the world of the divine Sefirot ...

The symbolism describing the Shekhinah is the most developed in kabbalistic literature. Most of the many and varied symbols refer to aspects of the Shekhinah's relationship with the other Sefirot above her—such as her acceptance of the divine light from them, her relationship to them as a lower aspect of themselves which is nearer to the created world, and her coming close to the masculine element or moving further away from it." (Encyclopaedia Judaica, "Shekinah")

SHCHINA – SHECHINAH – SHECHINA – SHEKHINAH, meaning “resting” or “dwelling” refers to the Divine Presence, usually characterized as the feminine aspect of God. Although this name for God does not appear in the Bible, God is often described as “dwelling” (shohen – SHIN VAV CAF NUN) among the people or in Jerusalem ...

... Kabbalists placed the concept of the SHEKHINAH at the center of their mystical system. The SHEKHINAH – also called Malkhut (Kingship), Princess, Daughter, Bride, Wisdom, and Divine Speech – is the tenth and most immanent of the Sefirot and radiates it upon the earth….

According to Kabbalistic theory, the original divine unity was shattered at the beginning of Creation so that God’s masculine aspects (the Sefirot, called Tiferet and Yesod) were separated from the feminine, the SHEKHINAH. Our task is to bring together – through prayer, study of Torah, and performance of the mitzvot (commandments) – the ten separate Sefirot, [and sex magic], thereby restoring that original divine unity. [The Encyclopedia of Jewish Symbols by Ellen Frankel and Betsy Platkin Teutsch (1992. Northvale: Jason Aronson. 154-155)]

Shekhinah is feminine, and She is a part of Masonry whether we want to admit it or not, if for no other reason than she represents LIGHT. In Hebrew tradition, Shekhinah is the Feminine face/aspect of god. She was the ancient Hebrew Goddess of wisdom and joy, the feminine part of Yahweh, and the light that dwelt within everything. She lived at the root of the Tree of Life, residing within the acacia, the tree that produces gum arabic, the glue that holds the world together. Her foundations can be traced back to the early Goddess imagery of Asherah and Astarte.

The Pope, Doubleday and the Double Mind

From Catholic World News:

"In Italy, journalists have intrigued by the irony: A new book by Pope Benedict XVI (bio - news) will be brought out in the US by the same publisher who gave us 'The Da Vinci Code.'"

And it was the Judaic Stephen Rubin, President of Doubleday and the Judaic Doubleday Executive Editor, Jason Kaufman who launched the nobody, Dan Brown and his Gospel mocking scribblings into the stratosphere:

(Dan Brown's books) "Angels and Demons" (2000), and "Deception Point" (2001), were published by Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, with (Jason) Kaufman as editor. Kaufman says the three books together sold perhaps 20,000 copies, most of that accounted for by "Angels and Demons."

"The first thing Jason did when he came (to Doubleday)," says (Stephen) Rubin, "was say, `I want to bring in a writer named Dan Brown.' We said, `Who's Dan Brown?' He had a proposal for a new book, we loved it, went back and read `Angels & Demons,' and made an offer." The proposal would become "The Da Vinci Code."

"We knew we had something exceptional," Rubin says.

http://www.danbrown.com/novels/davinci_code/articles/thriller_instinct.html

Catholic World News reports:

Ignatius Press would have featured the Pope’s book alongside other works by Joseph Ratzinger, and dozens of other books by orthodox Catholic scholars. Doubleday-- a division of the Random House publishing empire-- will put the Pope into a catalogue that features not only 'The Da Vinci Code' but other such unseemly titles as 'The Catholic Girl’s Guide to Sex' (a book that tells how to “enjoy your inevitable fall from grace”) and 'Talk Dirty to Me.'

The Pope’s book, entitled 'Jesus of Nazareth: From His Baptism to His Transfiguration,' aims to eliminate widespread confusion about the figure of Jesus Christ. On the Doubleday/Random House list, it will compete with books that have contributed to that confusion, such as 'The Jesus Mysteries: Was the ‘Original Jesus’ a Pagan God?'

http://www.cwnews.com/news/viewstory.cfm?recnum=49008

Other Doubleday titles which the Pope's book on Jesus will be catalogued alongside include David Klinghoffer's, Why the Jews Rejected Jesus: The Turning Point in Western History, and Opus Judei operative, Scott Hahn's books in which he peddles the Kabbalistic gnosis of a female Holy Spirit.

Some people have expressed shock at the Vatican's choice of publisher for the Pope's new book. I wonder why. Haven't they noticed the regularity with which the Vatican yokes light and darkness today? The Vatican's choice of publishing house--top heavy with Judaics with a catalogue full of books that mock Christ and Christians--is perfectly consistent with their statements and actions of late.

The Pope has plainly stated that he is involved in the process of building deeper religious relations between Catholics and Jews, that is to say, he intends to yolk Christians to the Pharisees. I'm exaggerating, you say? I think not. It is invariably in the presence of some high power rabbi or Judaic power broker that the Pope makes these statements. It's crystal clear who he intends Christians to build deeper religious relations with. It's certainly not the Old Testament-only Karaites. No, it's the Old Testament nullifying rabbis of the Pharisaic tradition.

The Vatican is engaged in the process of human alchemy. The Pope has plainly stated it. He's yoking light with darkness and he's thrilled to do so. How many can recognize the double mind being induced by the Vatican?

For what participation hath justice with iniquity? or what society is there between light and darkness? (2 Corinthians 6;14)

Depart from their tabernacles of the impious men, and touch ye not those things which pertain to them, lest you be enwrapped in their sins. (Numbers 16:26)

Who's Interests Does the Vatican Represent Today?

The Vatican's October 30-November 2, 1997 symposium, "The Roots of anti-Judaism in the Christian Environment" yielded the following incredible statements:

"... anti-Judaism does not have roots in the New Testament if it is read correctly."

"Faith cannot justify any form of anti-Judaism nor can the roots of this be found in the words of the Lord transmitted through his Church."

"Christians who yield to anti-Judaism offend God and the Church itself.''

What do the rabbinic sources say about this religion called, "Judaism."

"This is not an uncommon impression and one finds it sometimes among Jews as well as Christians - that Judaism is the religion of the Hebrew Bible. It is, of course, a fallacious impression."

"Judaism is not the religion of the Bible." (Rabbi Ben Zion Bokser, Judaism and the Christian Predicament, New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1967, p.59, 159).

"The Jewish religion as it is today traces its descent, without a break, through all the centuries, from the Pharisees."Their leading ideas and methods found expression in a literature of enormous extent, of which a very great deal is still in existence. The Talmud is the largest and most important single member of that literature, and round it are gathered a number of Midrashim, partly legal (Halachic) and partly works of edification (Haggadic). This literature, in its oldest elements, goes back to a time before the beginning of the Common Era, and comes down into the Middle Ages. Through it all run the lines of thought which were first drawn by the Pharisees, and the study of it is essential for any real understanding of Pharisaism." (Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. 3 pg. 474)

“Pharisaism became Talmudism, Talmudism became Medieval Rabbinism, and Medieval Rabbinism became Modern Rabbinism. But throughout these changes of name, inevitable adaptation of custom, and adjustment of Law, the spirit of the ancient Pharisee survives unaltered.” ( Rabbi Dr. Finkelstein, The Pharisees: The Sociological Background of Their Faith, pg. xxi)

"The Talmud is the written form of that which in the time of Jesus, was called the 'Tradition of the Elders,' and to which He makes frequent allusions." (Rodkinson, The History of the Talmud, p.70)

There seems to be a contradiction here. The Vatican tells us that anti-Judaism is not Scriptural and an offense against the Church, but what Scripture and Church are they talking about? Most Popes, Saints, Church Doctors, indeed, most Christians in the 2000 year history of Christianity have been anti-Judaism, and for good reason. Judaism is anti-Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ is anti-Judaism. What did Christ say about Judaism: the tradition of the Pharisees?

"Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees... Then they understood that he said not that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees." (Mark 16:6;12)

So we should beware the doctrine of the Pharisees: rabbinic Judaism. Apparently, the Vatican is telling us to do the opposite of what Christ is telling us to do here.

"And he said to them: Well do you make void the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition... Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. And many other such like things you do." (Mark 7: 9; 13)

Christ says that the traditions of the Pharisees, rabbinic Judaism, makes void the Word of God. It seems to me that this is a condemnation of the rabbinic tradition. How, then, can I not also condemn it? What true Christian can contradict what Christ Himself has stated on the matter?

"Then came to him from Jerusalem scribes and Pharisees, saying: Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the ancients? ... But he answering, said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandment of God for your tradition? ...Hypocrites, well hath Isaias prophesied of you, saying: This people honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me. And in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men." (Matthew 15: 1; 3; 7-9)

Christ says that the Pharisees transgress the commandments of God through their man-made traditions and doctrines and that they worship in vain. This also seems like a clear condemnation of the rabbinic tradition. I wonder how the Vatican prelates missed this. I thought they said that anti-Judaism has no roots in the New Testament. I'm afraid that I'm going to have to side with Jesus Christ on this, like my Christian forefathers have for 2000 years.

So we've demonstrated that the Vatican prelates misrepresent both rabbinic Judaism and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we haven't answered the question, who's interests are served by their statements.

Given that Judaism is the canonized tradition of the Pharisees who plotted Christ's execution and stoned His followers, and given that the "sages" of Judaism have never recanted their anti-Christian hostility since then, I'd say that the Vatican certainly doesn't have the interests of Christians in mind when it makes such statements.

Who does benefit from these Vatican statements, then?

The rabbis--that's whose interests the Vatican represents today.
