Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Holy See’s Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews, sat in at the recent meeting of the "Bilateral Commission of the Chief Rabbinate of Counterfeit Israel and the 'Holy' See's Commission for Religious Relations with 'The Jews'" and "expressed joy at the continuity of its work as a blessing for both communities and for humanity."

We documented that a speaker at this meeting, which Cardinal Koch would call a "blessing to humanity," was former chief economist of the bank of 'Israel' Rabbi Dr. Meir Tamari who strongly upholds the teaching of Orthodox Judaism that 'Jews' should receive interest-free loans while non-'Jews' should pay usury on loans HERE.

People, wake up. Submission to 'The Holocaust' can't save anyone's soul. Usury imposed according to a racial double-standard is not a blessing to humanity. These are curses of the worst kind. Anyone with the most minimal understanding of the Gospel and sense of temporal and spiritual self-preservation would run from this as fast as them legs could take them.

Pope called on to condemn bishop’s new anti-Semitic slur

BERLIN (JTA) -- A group of European rabbis has called on the pope to condemn the latest anti-Semitic remarks by a Holocaust-denying Catholic bishop.

The Brussels-based Conference of European Rabbis slammed comments by Catholic Bishop Richard Williamson in which he allegedly blamed Jews for deicide. Williamson, a member of the radical Catholic Pius Brotherhood sect, reportedly made the comments in the latest issue of his newsletter, “The Eleison Comments." He has been living in London ...

[Conference of European Rabbis President, Chief Rabbi Pinchas] Goldschmidt called for the Church to "suspend negotiations with extremist Catholic tendencies until it is clear that these groups show a clear commitment to tackling anti-Semitism within their ranks."

In his newsletter, Williamson wrote that “only the Jews were the primary agents of the deicide because Pontius Pilate would never have condemned Jesus if the Jews had not asked for blood.”

Williamson was found guilty of Holocaust denial in Germany in 2010 and fined about $14,000. He has previously denied the existence of gas chambers and the murder of 6 million Jews during the Holocaust.

In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI lifted the excommunication against Williamson, but the Vatican also reportedly declared that "in order to be admitted to episcopal functions within the Church, (he) will have to take his distance, in an absolutely unequivocal and public fashion, from his position on the Shoah, which the Holy Father was not aware of when the excommunication was lifted."

During meetings with Pope Benedict in Berlin last month, German Jewish leader Dieter Graumann said that one of the issues that troubled Jewish-Catholic relations was the Church's refusal to condemn Williamson.

In his statement Wednesday, Goldschmidt said the pope "has shown a commitment to fostering a spirit of positive dialogue with Jews both before and during his papacy. But he must clearly show that there is no room in the Catholic Church for purveyors of hate."

Michael Berenbaum, a rabbi and Holocaust scholar, has praised the Vatican announcement of Pope John Paul II’s beatification.

“Jews have no right to register an opinion on whom the Roman Catholic Church beautifies [sic] and whom it considers a saint,” he writes. “Nevertheless, this has not stopped us from asserting our disapproval of the efforts to canonize Pope Pius XII, the man who served as Pope during the Holocaust.”

“Though I have no vote,” he concludes, “were I to have [a] vote, I would be honored to consider Pope John Paul II a saint, not a saint without flaws, or human fallibility but a saint nevertheless.”

Storm knocks down tree outside famous attic.

The monumental chestnut tree that cheered Anne Frank while she was in hiding from the Nazis was toppled by wind and heavy rain on Monday.

The once mighty tree, now diseased and rotted through the trunk, snapped about 3 feet (1 meter) above ground and crashed across several gardens. It damaged a brick wall and several sheds, but nearby buildings — including the Anne Frank House museum — escaped unscathed. No one was injured, a museum spokeswoman said.

"Someone yelled, 'It's falling. The tree is falling,' and then you heard it go down," said museum spokeswoman Maatje Mostart. "Luckily no one was hurt."

A global campaign to save the chestnut, widely known as The Anne Frank Tree, was launched in 2007 after city officials deemed it a safety hazard and ordered it felled. The tree was granted a last-minute reprieve after a battle in court.

The 150-year-old tree suffered from fungus and moths that had caused more than half its trunk to rot.

Two years ago city workmen encased the trunk in a steel support system to prevent it from falling, but that failed under windy weather Monday.

The Netherlands' Trees Institute, one of the most prominent supporters of the preservation project, said it was "unpleasantly surprised" by the news of the tree's fall early Monday afternoon.

"On the advice of experts in tree care, it had been calculated that the tree could live several more decades" with the support structure, the institute said in a statement.

"Alas, in the event it seems that nature is stronger."

The institute said it didn't know why the support structure had failed.

Many clones of the tree have been taken, including 11 planted at sites around the United States and 150 at a park in Amsterdam. It is not clear whether a new tree will replace the original one on the same spot, since it rests on property belonging to a neighbor.

The Jewish teenager made several references to the tree in the diary that she kept during the 25 months she remained indoors until her family was arrested in August 1944.

"Nearly every morning I go to the attic to blow the stuffy air out of my lungs," she wrote on Feb. 23, 1944. "From my favorite spot on the floor I look up at the blue sky and the bare chestnut tree, on whose branches little raindrops shine, appearing like silver, and at the seagulls and other birds as they glide on the wind."

She also wrote: "As long as this exists, ... and I may live to see it, this sunshine, the cloudless skies — while this lasts I cannot be unhappy."

Anne Frank died of typhus in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in March 1945. Her diary was recovered and published after her death. It has become the most widely read document to emerge from the Holocaust.

Although many Jews fled Rome prior to the troops' arrival, almost none of those deported survived. Benedict, only the second pope in history to enter the Rome Synagogue, will be greeted at the entrance to the ghetto by the respective heads of the Rome Jewish Community and the Italian Jewish Community, Riccardo Pacifici and Renzo Gattegna. He will stop to pay tribute at the Holocaust memorial and will then be welcomed at the Synagogue steps by Rome's Chief Rabbi Riccardo Di Segni, the Vatican statement said. A choir will greet the pontiff inside the building, after which the official meeting will get under way, with speeches from both sides. After leaving the building, Benedict will be taken to the gardens and Rome's Jewish Museum ... Dec. 7, 2009 - The German State Prosecutor has excluded the possibility of a pre-trial, out-of-court settlement in the case of Roman Catholic Bishop Richard Williamson's alleged "Holocaust denial" statements which were filmed in Germany in 2008 and broadcast on Swedish television earlier this year. A possible trial date is said to be considered for late February or early March. The 28-year-old female judge in the case desires Bishop Williamson to be personally present at the trial, so that "he can explain what were his motives in saying what he said on Swedish television." She "wishes to judge his answers in person."

Bishop Williamson, an English native, currently resides in London, after being fired from his position as rector of his seminary in Argentina. He was then expelled from the country by the government under pressure from Zionist groups.

New York, NY, July 30, 2009 … Catholic school teachers from around the country traveled to Israel to learn about anti-Semitism and the Holocaust as part of the Anti-Defamation League's (ADL) nationally acclaimed Bearing Witness Advanced program.

Bearing Witness Advanced provides educators with an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of Israel against the backdrop of Jewish history, the Holocaust and Catholic-Jewish relations.

"Combining experts' knowledge of the Holocaust with the words of those who experienced it can have a unique and powerful impact," said Dr. Ed S. Alster, ADL's Director of Education. "The teachers learned firsthand how anti-Semitism can lead to tragedy if left unchecked. The experience should enable them to convey these lessons to their students more effectively."

At Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority, the teachers heard from Holocaust survivors, historians and pedagogical experts. They also visited Christian and Jewish holy sites, and met with interfaith experts. To lend a contemporary sense of Israel, the group traveled around the country, and met with authors, journalists and political analysts.

To prepare for the trip, the educators attended an introductory seminar at Seton Hall University with Holocaust and anti-Semitism experts.

The 19 participants in the 2009 Bearing Witness Advanced seminar hailed from Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. All are graduates of regional ADL Bearing Witness programs.

Since its inception, Bearing Witness has trained more than 1,000 Catholic school educators across the country. In 1998 it became an ADL nationally sponsored program and ADL regional offices began replicating the initiative in 2002. Bearing Witness is endorsed by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

A.: Bishop Williamson has not been expelled; he has been dismissed from his position and his observations about the technical aspects of gas chambers were scathingly criticised by his confreres in the priesthood and in the episcopate. He has been reduced to silence by his superior, Mgr Fellay. In order to avoid saying that it is forbidden to touch the new Messiah, the affair has been classified as a “historical question”, falling outside the competence of a bishop. Is that really why he is no longer allowed to exercise his ministry?

Cardinal calls shooting at US Holocaust museum 'appalling'

WASHINGTON (CNS) - The president of the United States bishops' conference called the June 10 shooting at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum that left a security guard dead "appalling".

James von Brunn, identified as an 88-year-old Holocaust denier and white supremacist, opened fire in the Washington museum and fatally shot guard Stephen Johns, 39, according to The Associated Press.

The shooting "was a deplorable act of violence and a violation of a hallowed space in our nation's capital," said Cardinal Francis E. George of Chicago in a statement released June 11 by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington.

"This tragic incident only serves to reinforce the need for continued education throughout society against bias of every kind, but most especially racial and religious prejudice," he said.

In a separate statement Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl of Washington said June 11 the murder was "particularly distressing given the museum's special mission to educate our world about violence and be a living reminder of the harm that comes from hatred and anger."

"It is our prayer that Mr. Johns rest in God's eternal embrace and that this loss be a call to each of us for a renewed commitment to building a world of peace and respect for all people," Archbishop Wuerl said.

The archdiocese collaborates with the museum, the bishops' conference and other groups each year to train Catholic school educators to teach their students about anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, prejudice and Catholic-Jewish relations.

In his statement Cardinal George said that that "by preserving the memory of the 6 million Jews who died in the Shoah, the museum speaks to the consciences of all who pass through its doors and hear the powerful stories of the innocent men, women and children who lost their lives at the hands of a criminal regime."

He noted that annually millions of the visitors to the museum "learn of the dangers of unchecked hatred and of the need to prevent genocide wherever it threatens."

The cardinal, on behalf of the U.S. bishops, offered condolences to the Johns family and said the Catholic leaders are "committed to promoting human dignity and interreligious peace throughout our nation."

"We echo the words of Pope Benedict XVI: 'May the Shoah be a warning for all against forgetfulness, denial or reductionism, because violence committed against one single human being is violence against all,'" he said.

I remain puzzled by the fact that the Bp. Williamson "Holocaust denial" controversy continues to be framed as a mere matter of history and law by Bp. Fellay (and even Bp. Williamson himself before he was silenced) when everyone from politicians to academics to the rabbis to the bishops and even the Pope piously speaks of it in theological language.

Every Catholic is within their right and responsibility to resist the errors of "Holocaust" theology as much as any other theological error.

"It is clear that one cannot be Catholic if he denies the Shoah."

(ANSA) - Vatican City, March 6 - Pope Benedict XVI's trip to the Holy land in May will not take in Israel's Holocaust museum where WWII pope Pius XII is accused of silence on the Holocaust, the Israeli ambassador to the Holy See told ANSA Friday.

Speaking after reports that the Pius XII exhibit might be changed ahead of the May 8-15 trip, Ambassador Mordechai Levy said Benedict would attend a memorial ceremony at the Yad Vashem site but would not visit the museum itself.

Levy said the pope, accompanied by Israeli President Shimon Peres, would light a remembrance fire and make a speech ...

So according to reports, Benedict will sanctify the Yad Vashem Temple, but will not visit the Yad Vashem museum. He apparently protests slander against Pius XII while sanctifying a false religion which threatens to replace Calvary. See: Bad Advice from the Pope

But look at this:

... Earlier on Friday, Catholic sources in Jerusalem voiced hope the Pius 'silence' caption could be changed to avoid embarrassing Benedict.

They were speaking after the announcement of a debate on the controversial pope, who is on track to become a saint, at Yad Vashem on Sunday and Monday.

The symposium, which will take place largely behind closed doors, will look at Pius in the light of the latest historical evidence.

Organisers say the conference will see ''if there is something new or something which has to be completely revised'' in light of recent research by Jewish and Catholic scholars ...

My goodness. Could it be that the Vatican and Yad Vashem might engage in that wicked practice: historical debate in light of new evidence to determine if something needs to be revised--revisionism--the very "crime" that Bishop Williamson is threatened with banishment and imprisonment for?

You see, Pius XII's "silence" has not yet been canonized as the "Six Million" and the "Execution Gas Chambers" have been. Speak up while you have the chance. Once the Sanhedrin has ruled, anyone who speaks contrary is anathema.

But I ask people to have true perspective on this. The establishment has framed the matter so that Pius XII's legacy and prospects as a canonized saint will stand or fall based entirely upon whether he was "good for the 'Jews'" (the principle all things are judged by today). There has been no serious discussion on whether Pius XII could have done more for the Christians suffering under "Uncle Joe" Stalin, and other criteria that a pope or saint would traditionally be judged by.

On Bishop Williamson's Second Apology

Bishop Williamson has apologized again, inappropriately in my view, for the shock and awe campaign that has come as a response to his public expression of his thoughts on certain elements of "Holocaust" doctrine. In fact, the responsibility for the calamitous, altogether disconnected and disproportionate reaction of this past month lies squarely on the rabbis and Judaic power-brokers and their accomplices in governments, in the media, in the curia and in the parishes directly involved in it; a reaction which has all of the proportion and justice of the December 2008 Gaza massacre. I disagree with the suggestion that a few words spoken by the Bishop are the cause of all this. Let's not validate the absurd notion that lynch-mob behavior is a normal or acceptable, inevitable response to controversy and that Catholics must tailor their words, nay, their thoughts, to forestall it.

What is most disconcerting about Bp. Williamson's apology, however, is the closing line: "As the Holy Father has said, every act of unjust violence against one man hurts all mankind." HERE

This is a clear reference to Benedict's shameful Holocaust sermon of January 28th, 2008 where he proclaimed, "May the Shoah be for all a warning against forgetfulness, against denial or reductionism, because the violence against a single human being is violence against all." HERE

I don't care to speculate on the motivations behind Bp. Williamson's adoption of Bendict's foreign language from his recent "Holocaust" sermon [see footnote]. I am also bewildered by Bishop Fellay's reported adoption of the "elder brothers" language on the lips of every crypto-rabbi in Rome today. This is not consistent with the SSPX message which has it that the society intends to bring Rome to Tradition. These statements, if taken at face value, indicate a new synthesis produced by this recent "Holocaust" debacle sending the SSPX off its stated course considerably.

If the price of admission into dialog with Rome on the errors of the Vatican II Council is adopting Rome's strange language and ideas concerning the "elder brothers" it would seem to be a case of straining out a gnat while swallowing a camel in my estimation--not worth it; a deal the Archbishop would have scoffed at.

I warn that the rabbis would not be satisfied, nor do I believe that Rome would grant "full communion," until "Rabbi Larry" and his cronies are preaching Holocaustolatry in SSPX schools and seminaries as they already do in Novus Ordo schools and seminaries HERE. Apologies from "Holocaust deniers" (who the rabbis, madmen that they are, place on par with the perpetrators of "The Holocaust") are inconsequential. There is no forgiveness for them. The only acceptable reparation is that they be imprisoned, cast out, or otherwise silenced, but more importantly, that their followers subsequently be mindbombed with Holocaust dogma. Benedict's elder brother, Rabbi Arthur Schneier proclaimed as much at the Vatican last week:

A spokesperson for Yad Vashem has stated the same in response to Bishop Williamson's apology:

"The millions of Jews that were murdered in the Holocaust and the survivors who were persecuted are not waiting for [Bp. Williamson's] apology," said Iris Rosenberg, spokeswoman of the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum in Jerusalem. "If he is looking to repent, he needs to admit that he was wrong in denying the truth. This is much more important to the people he claims to lead."

What is important to Yad Vashem is not an apology from Bishop Williamson, but conforming the minds of his followers to "Holocaust" dogma, and Yad Vashem has many accomplices in Rome who have already made "Holocaust" dogma standard curriculum in Novus Ordo Catholic schools and seminaries. A true traditional Catholic alternative to their kosher schools and seminaries is not acceptable to them.

Have no doubt, as the Vatican currently stands, this is what "full communion" entails.

My prayers are with the SSPX leadership. I cannot imagine the pressure that's upon them.

Footnote: Benedict stated, "violence committed against any one single human being is violence against all humanity. No man is an island, a well known poet once wrote." That poet is Anglican priest, John Donne who was steeped in the Pantheism, Hermeticism, and Kabbalism of the Renaissance, but the concept Benedict draws on is actually founded in Babylonian Talmud, tractate Sanhedrin 37a and applies only to "Jews:" "Whosoever destroys a single soul of Israel, scripture imputes [guilt] to him as if he had destroyed a complete world." A Proper Defense of Pope Pius XII Against the "Holocaust" Inquisition

All books from establishment publishing houses purported to defend Pius XII against the false charges of the "Holocaust" Inquisition are woefully inadequate. Some of them do more harm than good. Rabbi Dalin, in typical rabbi style, lends his sponsorship to Pius XII in exchange for the opportunity to seed confusion related to the Herzl-Pius X meeting into the Catholic camp.

I had much time to spend reading last month and I read Professor Robert Faurisson's book, Pope Pius XII's Revisionism, very carefully. I highly recommend this book which tackles the matter of Pius XII's W.W.II "silence" outside of the rigged framework that all the other books are locked into, i.e. "was Pius XII good for the 'Jews'." Professor Faurisson documents that Pius XII did indeed save many Judaic persons at great risk to himself and the Church, but this is only a minor part of the study. The book primarily focuses on the fact that during W.W.II, Pius XII was bombarded with outrageous atrocity propaganda and asked to condemn countless fabricated atrocities and that he was skeptical of much of it, and for good reason. I will say no more than this, other than to restate that this is the only book worth reading on the topic because it's the only book that approaches the matter without deference to "Holocaust" dogmas. All of the other books take the claims of the "Holocaust" industry as Gospel and build their case upon that shoddy foundation.

Indeed, "deniers" of the dogmas of the "Holocaust" religion do have to deal with the Vatican which now functions as the "Noahide" wing of the Holy "Holocaust" Inquisition. Today we have the following statement from the Pope's Secretary of State relating to the conditions which the four bishops of the Society of St. Pius X must submit to in order to be brought into full communion with Benedict and his elder brothers in the faith. The following quotation concerns Bishop Williamson specifically:

Bishop Williamson, for an admission to episcopal functions in the Church, [in addition to declaring full recognition of the Second Vatican Council and of the Magisterium of Popes John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I, John Paul II, and Benedict XVI] will also have to declare, in an absolutely unequivocal and public manner, distance from his positions regarding the Shoah, unknown to the Holy Father in the moment of the remission of the excommunication..."

Bad Advice From the Pope

THE SHOAH: AN ADMONITION NOT TO FORGET OR DENY

VATICAN CITY, 28 JAN 2009 (VIS) - "May the Shoah be for everyone an admonition against oblivion, negation and reductionism, because violence against a single human being is violence against all", the Holy Father told pilgrims attending his weekly general audience.

Referring to recent commemorations of the Shoah, the Pope highlighted how at Auschwitz - a place he has visited several times, the last in May 2006 during his apostolic trip to Poland - "millions of Jews were cruelly massacred, innocent victims of blind racial and religious hatred.

"As I once again affectionately express my full and indisputable solidarity with our Brothers and Sisters who received the First Covenant", he added, "I trust that the memory of the Shoah will induce humankind to reflect upon the unpredictable power of evil when it conquers the heart of man".

"In particular", the Holy Father concluded, "may the Shoah show both old and new generations that only the arduous path of listening and dialogue, of love and forgiveness, can lead peoples, cultures and religions of the world to the longed-for goal of fraternity and peace, in truth. May violence never again humiliate man's dignity".

My response:

CALVARY: AN ADMONITION NOT TO RELATIVIZE OR REPLACE

May Calvary be for everyone an admonition against oblivion, negation and reductionism, for the crucifixion of the perfectly innocent, infinitely just Messiah of Israel, Jesus Christ; God Incarnate, is by an immeasurable margin the most terrible crime committed by men in the history of the world; the definitive statement on man's fallen nature and need for redemption which gloriously came to many through the same crucifixion.

Let there be no attempts at negation of this cosmic crime through transfer of the guilt borne by the most culpable parties--Judas and the Nasi, Chief Priests, elders and Pharisees--those whom Jesus Christ said "have the greater sin" (John 19:11), to the less guilty: Pilate and the Roman soldiers. Let there be no attempt at reductionism of this unsurpassable crime through attempts at relativization of it, or even replacement of it, with overblown tales of crimes against mere men, ie. the so-called "Shoah" or "Holocaust" of the so-called "Jews." Let there be an immediate end to this monument to human folly. It is less possible to replace Calvary with the so called "Shoah" than it was for the Pharisees to escape guilt by arranging for the Romans to carry out their crimes. This is lunacy of the highest order which befits not the claimed Christian heirs to the incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection and pentecost. St. Augustine wrote:

"... therefore when Pilate, who was the Roman judge, wished to hand [Jesus] back to the Jews, that they might judge Him according to their law, they refused to receive Him, saying, "It is not lawful for us to put any man to death." And so the saying of Jesus was fulfilled, which He foretold concerning His death, that, being delivered up by the Jews, He should be put to death by the Gentiles: whose crime was less than that of the Jews, who sought by this method to make themselves appear averse to His being put to death, to the end that, not their innocence, but their madness might be made manifest."

I trust that the memory of Calvary will induce humankind to reflect upon the power of evil when it conquers the souls of men. Any historical event other than Calvary, no matter how exaggerated, would be inferior to an incalculable degree as a teaching example towards this end. What sane person would consider such a thing? The notion that any other event could have significance in any regard approaching the crucifixion of God Incarnate is extreme delusion.

I say with Pope St. Pius X, whose recognition was solicited for Judaic schemes, "The Jews have not recognized our Lord; therefore, we cannot recognize the Jewish people ..." These are not brothers and sisters in any spiritual, religious sense whatever. There is no basis for solidarity with heirs to the tradition of rabbinic Judaism which was born in hostility to the Messiah of Israel, Jesus Christ, and has remained hostile to Him, and His followers, for 2000 years since. It is crazy talk to identify these people as heirs to any biblical covenant or patriarch. As St. Paul wrote, "But if you are Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise." (Galatians 3:27-29). Today's so-called "Jews," heirs to the traditions of the Pharisees, have no claim to any biblical patriarch, as Jesus said, "... there is one that accuses you, Moses, in whom you trust. For had ye believed Moses, you would haply believe Me also, for he wrote of Me. But seeing ye believe not his words, how can you believe Me?" (John 5; 45-47). Indeed, Jesus described apostate, counterfeit Israel; spiritual fathers of today's pious "Jews," as killers of the prophets and all of the just since Abel (Matthew 23; 34-35). Let there be no more talk of solidarity and brotherhood with such people, and let us beware their self-exalting doctrines as Jesus warned (Matthew 16;11-12), the doctrines of Holocaustolatry especially. Let us pray unceasingly for their conversion away from their anti-biblical, lying, hateful, self-worshiping traditions to faith in Jesus Christ. Let us be good examples in our lives through imitation of Jesus Christ.

In particular, may Calvary show both old and new generations that only the arduous path of taking up one's own cross can lead peoples of the world to the longed-for goal that the will of the Father be done on earth, as it is in heaven. May Judaic contrivances never compete in the minds, hearts or souls of men with Calvary. Calvary is our salvation. "The Shoah" is a method for our enslavement.

PARIS (European Jewish Press)---France’s Chief Rabbi Joseph Sitruk said he "perfectly agreed" with the idea of President Nicolas Sarkozy that each pupil in the last year of French primary school "adopts" the memory of one of the 11,000 French Jewish children killed in the Holocaust, learning about the child's background and fate.
"I perfectly agree with the idea of Nicolas Sarkozy,” the rabbi told Monday private French tv station I-télé, calling Sarkozy’s idea "nice" and "generous."

He said the idea will allow the children of France to better understand a phenomenon which affects them and which is a considerable stake.”

It is the first time the chief rabbi gives his opinion since the presidential announcement last Wednesday at the annual dinner of CRIF, the representative body of Jewish organizations in France.

He said that “it is not a topical problem, so there is no emergency to take a position.”

He added: “The idea is simply to realize that the Shoah, the Nazi genocide of the Jewish people, is not the problem of the Jews, it is a problem of society.”

"There is a drama which does not cease lasting, that of all massacres which were since perpetrated", he said.

“Nothing is comparable with anything, but there were so many misfortunes in the world, danger is still there, and the humanity did not understand what Shoah could mean as a considerable teaching,” Sitruk said.

For the rabbi, "the president wanted to make understand to our country that the memory transmission was almost a ‘state affair’, the affair of all.”

He suggested to the government to launch a commission of specialists, teachers, former deportees and resistance fighters.”

"Education will save our country, nothing else ", Sitruk said.

PARIS (Reuters) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy, facing a tide of criticism over his call for schoolchildren to "adopt" Jewish child victims of the Holocaust, hit back on Friday saying France had to raise children "with open eyes."

However, in a move that could sink the project, France's most prominent Holocaust survivor, Simone Veil, came out firmly against the plan, calling it "unimaginable, untenable, appalling and, above all, unjust."

Sarkozy touched off the controversy on Wednesday when he told France's Jewish community that every 10-year-old schoolchild should be "entrusted with the memory of a French child victim of the Holocaust."

The proposal unleashed a storm of protest from teachers, psychologists and his political foes who said it would unfairly burden children with the guilt of previous generations and some could be traumatized by identifying with a Holocaust victim.
