The Rabbinic Foundation of Netanyahu's Messianic Lunacy Further Revealed

During his pilgrimage to Counterfeit Israel shortly after the 2009 Israeli Gaza Massacre, the fanatical philojudaic Pope Benedict XVI and messianic lunatic Benjamin Netanyahu posed for this bizarre photo.

Prime Minster of Counterfeit Israel Benjamin Netanyahu recently visited the Mercaz Harav, the yeshiva of the first Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of British Mandate Palestine, Abraham Isaac Kook. The yeshiva gifted Netanyahu with a correspondence between his grandfather, Rabbi Nathan Mileikowsky and Rabbi Kook. Rabbi Kook taught 'Jews' to, "begin to shake off the dust of exile by our own efforts, through natural, historical processes ... that we have a sacred duty to try to do so by whatever means are at our disposal," and that it is "the End [redemption] that is forcing us," a delusion that Netanyahu so clearly labors under.

In October of 2008, Pope Benedict and Cardinal Martini invited Rabbi She'ar-Yashuv Cohen, a student of Mercaz Harav and protégé of Rabbi Kook, to teach on Scripture at a synod of bishops which we commented on HERE, HERE, and elsewhere. Rabbi She'ar-Yashuv Cohen is also a member of the bilateral commission of the Chief Rabbinate of 'Israel' and the 'Holy' See's Commission for Religious Relations with 'The Jews' which in 2007 recognized the Talmudic 'Noahide laws' and in 2012 hosted former chief economist of the Bank of 'Israel,' Dr. Meir Tamari (who upholds rabbinic teaching that 'Jews' should receive interest free loans while 'non-Jews' should pay usury) to speak on his "vision for a just economic order." Rabbi She'ar-Yashuv Cohen was highly visible at the Pope's 2010 visit to the synagogue of Rome and at the 2011 Sant Egidio "International Meeting of Prayer for Peace." 

What specifically concerns liturgy-centric traditional Catholics is that Pope Benedict changed the ancient Holy Week liturgy as a concession to the Chief Rabbinate of 'Israel' of which Rabbi She'ar-Yashuv Cohen, disciple of Rabbi Kook, acts as chairman.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu received an emotional gift late Sunday: A letter his paternal grandfather, rabbi Nathan Mileikowsky, wrote in 1933 to Ashkenazi chief rabbi Avraham Yitzhak Kook.

Ahead of Netanyahu’s Jerusalem Day speech at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva, its dean, Rabbi Yaakov Shapira, presented the prime minister with the letter in which Mileikowsky asked Kook to help clear rightist Zionist leader Abba Ahimeir, who was falsely accused of assassinating leftist Zionist leader Chaim Arlosoroff. Kook agreed to help in his response, which Shapira had framed together with Mileikowsky’s letter.

Mileikowsky, like his grandson, was known worldwide as a Zionist orator.

Shapira’s message in presenting the gift was that the prime minister should not give up his loyalty to the Land of Israel that he received from his grandfather and his father, Benzion Netanyahu, who died three weeks ago.

Netanyahu said it was emotional to receive the letter, which he had not known existed. He promised never to abandon his commitment to Jerusalem. “There are those who say that to guarantee our future we must divide Jerusalem,” he said in a reference to former prime minister Ehud Olmert.

“I say, to guarantee our future, I will make sure that Jerusalem remains our undivided capital.” Netanyahu added that when he hears world leaders tell him not to build in Jerusalem he thinks of King David, who he said “built this city before their nations existed.”

After a week in which Pope Benedict XVI visited the Great Synagogue of Rome and the Vatican and the Rabbinate of Israel held their regular annual meeting, Catholic-Jewish relations are looking considerably healthy – much more so than it might appear in some of the mass media.

As mentioned in an earlier post, whatever the controversies affecting the dialogue, relations usually continue much as they did before, largely thanks – as the Holy Father noted in his synagogue address – to advances in dialogue emanating from the Second Vatican Council’s declaration Nostra Aetate.

Rabbi David Rosen, director of the American Jewish Committee’s Department for Interreligious Affairs, called the Pope’s visit to Rome’s synagogue “a genuine milestone, putting many fears and suspicions to rest and reinvigorating the historic transformation of this relationship in our times.” He noted what he called a warm, impressive and festive atmosphere which he said was a “public expression of already well established friendships between Catholic and Jewish leadership present.”

Of course, the well trodden controversies over Pius XII, Richard Williamson and the Good Friday prayer of the Traditional Latin Mass have, rightly or wrongly, been of real concern to many Jews. Yet their real impact on dialogue is actually minor. During this week’s bilateral commission between the Vatican and Rabbinate of Israel – a meeting that included a number of very senior Judaic and Church leaders – the dispute over Pius was never raised. More important were the areas the two faiths hold in common.

“These controversies are important for the mass media, but not for our dialogue,” said Father Norbert Hoffman, the Secretary of the Vatican Commission on Religious Relations with Judaism. ”We didn’t talk about the Pius matter at all during this [commission] meeting. Of course this issue exists but it doesn’t exist in the sense that the media think it would be on the table.” He added the final assessment of the delegation of the Chief Rabbinate was that the Pope’s visit to the synagogue was “very successful.”

Earlier this week, the [Judaic advocate of dungeon sentences for non-believers of "Holocaust" dogmas who is located in France], Bernard-Henri Lévy, denounced what he said were media caricatures of Benedict XVI and Pius XII in their dealings with Jews, saying their words and deeds belied their media portrayals.

All of which further points to what many have long suspected: that certain individuals and groups, not only within the mass media but elsewhere, are sadly exaggerating and exploiting Catholic-Jewish differences to suit their own ends, whether it be to sell newspapers or, more seriously, for a variety of nefarious goals directed against the Church.

Rabbinate Confronted With 60 Missionary Converts

(IsraelNN.com) The Chief Rabbinate has been given a list of more than 60 recent converts to Judaism who continue to believe in Jesus – and are active missionaries.

Rabbi Shalom Dov Lifshitz, chairman and founder of the anti-missionary and anti-assimilation Yad L’Achim organization, met in recent days with Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar and provided him with the list. Rabbi Amar was reportedly “shocked” at seeing that the Chief Rabbinate had authorized the conversions.

An immediate solution was found for the future, however. Rabbi Lifshitz presented Rabbi Amar with a list of 17 questions that should be asked of any prospective convert. Under the assumption that the missionaries will either not lie straight out, or that the specific questions will help detect the lies, it is hoped that missionaries will be spotted and weeded out from the conversion rolls.

Yad L’Achim had prepared the list of names, ID numbers and addresses of more than 60 people who were active in missionary groups before, during and after their long conversion process to Judaism. The "converts" were then accepted as members of religious communities, and their children were accepted into religious schools.

The meeting between the two rabbis was held in advance of the anticipated Aliyah [immigration to Israel] of many Bnei Menashe members to Israel, amongst whom it is suspected are a significant number of missionaries. The questions to be asked of them will enable weeding them out while resulting in the legitimization of the conversion of the remaining members.

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Israel's religious leaders asked Pope Benedict on Thursday to make Holocaust studies a required subject in Catholic schools, saying it could help combat anti-Semitism in future generations.

The two sides resumed a dialogue that was interrupted by the case of a Holocaust-denying bishop, which brought Catholic-Jewish relations to their lowest point in half a century.

The Israelis also asked that the Vatican take a strong stand against the draft final declaration of next month's U.N. conference on racism, a statement some countries view as hostile to Israel.

"May we suggest for your consideration that the history and the moral import of the Shoah ... become a required subject for inclusion in the curriculum of students at all Catholic schools the world over," Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen asked the pope during a meeting at the Vatican, using the Hebrew word for Holocaust.

Cohen, who is chief rabbi of Haifa, said such a move would "reinforce your strong stand against Holocaust denial and declaring anti-Semitism as a sin against God."

Rabbi David Rosen, International Director of Interreligious Affairs for the American Jewish Congress, told reporters afterwards: "I hope a recommendation (from the pope on Holocaust studies in Catholic schools) will come out of this latest crisis. That will be a silver lining to the cloud."

The meeting between representatives of Israel's chief Rabbinate and Vatican officials on Wednesday and Thursday was to have taken place last month but was postponed by the Jewish side because of the controversy over Bishop Richard Williamson.

On January 24, Benedict lifted the excommunication of Williamson and three other traditionalist bishops to try to heal a 20-year-old rift that began when they were thrown out of the Church for being ordained without permission. Williamson has said he believed there were no gas chambers and that no more than 300,000 Jews perished in Nazi concentration camps, compared with the figure of 6 million accepted by mainstream historians.

The pope has since made several major declarations to repudiate Williamson's views and condemn anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial.

On Thursday, Vatican officials announced Benedict would pay a visit to Rome's main synagogue in the autumn. "There's no firm date fixed yet," the chief Vatican spokesman, Father Federico Lombardi, told Italian media.

The Jewish delegation also asked the pope to instruct Vatican diplomats to take a strong stand against the current draft of the final statement of the U.N. Conference on Racism due to be held in Geneva April 20-24, known as Durban II.

The Vatican has said it will attend the conference but hoped for a change in the wording of its final declaration. Both Italy and the United States have said they will not attend unless there is a change of wording.

Unofficial Itinerary for Papal Visit to "Israel"

Papal Holy Land Trip to Have Interreligious Focus

Unofficial Itinerary Reflects Attention to Jewish, Muslim Dialogue

JERUSALEM, MARCH 4, 2009 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI will be taking many steps to promote interreligious dialogue during his May trip to the Holy Land, according to an unofficial itinerary.

Jean-Marie Allafort from "Un Echo d'Israel," a Christian newsletter in Israel, spoke with ZENIT about the Pope's unofficial schedule for the May 11-15 trip, though he said that "neither the Vatican nor the State of Israel has published the official program," and some items are still being discussed.

According to Allafort, the trip will include a visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, and a welcome from both the Israeli and Palestinian Authority presidents.

Israeli President Shimon Peres is set to welcome the Holy Father on May 11, and together they will visit the Yad Vashem, according to the report. Later that evening, the Pontiff will attend an interreligious meeting before proceeding to the apostolic nunciature where he will reside during his stay,

On his second day in Israel, the Holy Father will meet with the mufti of Jerusalem and then go to the Wailing Wall to take part in a ceremony that will also be attended by the grand rabbis of Israel. Later that morning, he will visit the rabbinate of Israel.

At noon, the Holy Father will pray in the Cenacle, where Jesus held his Last Supper. And then he will visit the Latin patriarchate of Jerusalem to meet and lunch with the Catholic ordinaries of the Holy Land. That evening he will visit Gethsemane and celebrate a solemn Mass.

On May 13, the unofficial itinerary has Benedict XVI visiting Bethlehem, where he will be welcomed by the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, and other Palestinian leaders. There he will visit the Basilica of the Nativity and celebrate Mass.

In the afternoon, he is set to visit a refugee camp near Bethlehem, as well as a work of charity, though this latter site has not been determined.

The program for Thursday, May 14, is still being considered, but the Holy Father is expected to celebrate Mass in the morning in Nazareth and meet with religious leaders of Galilee.

On his last day, the Bishop of Rome will visit the Orthodox patriarch of Jerusalem in the patriarchate. Then he will go to the Holy Sepulcher where he will be received by the Franciscan Custos of the Holy Land, and where he will be spend time in prayer.

Later that morning, he will visit the Armenian neighborhood of the Old City of Jerusalem and meet with the Armenian Orthodox patriarch.

He is scheduled to leave Israel around 2 p.m. that afternoon.

The Chief Rabbinate has decided to resume dialogue with the Holy See, after the Vatican declared that an apology from Holocaust denier Bishop Richard Williamson wasn't good enough and that he must repudiate his views if he wants to be a Roman Catholic clergyman.

Israel Radio reported Sunday that the Vatican confirmed that a Chief Rabbinate delegation headed by Haifa's Chief Rabbi She'ar Yashuv Hacohen would visit in some two weeks and meet Pope Benedict VI [sic].

In the meeting, preparations are expected to be made for the Pope's visit to Israel in May.
