Neocatechumenal Way Presents Holocaustian Symphony of Homage to Talmudic "Fathers in the Faith"

Literally every religious claim below is rubbish intended to create false commonality between Jesus, the Bible, the Israelites and today's talmudic 'Jews' where there is in fact complete opposition. Jesus never prayed to "Hashem," a ridiculous, tribal, exclusivist contrivance which translates as "The Name."  But this is the kind of madness that one would expect from 'Catholics' who call the rabbis of Talmud and Kabbalah "fathers in the faith."

'Traditional Catholics' are wont to criticize the Neocatechumenal Way for its liturgical absurdities. Let us see what they have to say (nothing?) about this theologically and symbolically loaded symphony of race exultation in which Jesus' mother is made to cry with 'Jews' of the Talmud (which teaches that her Son deserved to be executed) and "affirm" the "Shema Yisrael" which for centuries has connotated rejection of Christianity in general and specifically the Christian doctrines of the Trinity and Divinity of Christ.

Dear traditionalist reader, what we have here, consistent with the modern Catholic mockery of Auschwitz replacing Calvary, is Mary crying with 'The Jews' at the foot of the 'gas chambers' instead of crying for Jesus at the foot of the cross. ... The Neocatechumenal Way was founded in Spain, in large part, to further Catholic spiritual renewal and solidify the relationship with Jews. The group, now with more than 80 seminaries around the world and a major center in Israel’s Galilee, is presenting a free symphonic concert in Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall (May 8 at 8 p.m.), billed as a “musical gift to the Jewish people.” (Advance registration required, by calling [201] 998-9469).

The symphony, entitled “The Suffering of the Innocents,” is being presented as an homage and prayer to Holocaust victims in particular, viewed through a Catholic prism of Mary crying and united with Jewish mothers in the concentration camps, affirming “Shema Yisrael.” The elaborate piece — for 100 musicians and 80 choral singers — was composed by the movement’s founder, Kiko Arguello, a painter and theologian, who has stated that his symphony is being offered “as a bridge of love and reconciliation.

“We act according to the last wishes for Pope John Paul II. We remember that the roots of Christianity are in Judaism and that since the beginning, God made Israel the chosen people.”

The concert has been endorsed by representatives of numerous Jewish organizations, including the American Jewish Committee, the Anti-Defamation League [of B'nai B'rith], the New York Board of Rabbis and the Jewish Community Relations Council, as well as Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, and Haim Gutin of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism. After the performance of the symphony, [Papal Knight] Rabbi David Rosen, the AJC’s director of interreligious relations, is scheduled to lead a memorial prayer for the victims of the Shoah, prior to a collective recitation of “Shema.”

['Holocaust' Dispensationalist Theologian] Rabbi Irving “Yitz” Greenberg told The Jewish Week that The Neocatechumenal Way is “primarily a lay inspiration group that has done no missionary work and has no missionary interest. They speak about Israel like the Evangelicals do, that the Jews are ‘God’s people.’ And Israel is ‘God’s Promised Land.’ They specialize in a respectful attempt to help Catholics better appreciate the Jewish people and the Jewish religion, as well as raising an awareness of how much the Jews have suffered, including from Christians.

“In fact, one of the highlights of their programs, including the one they’re about to have in New York, is to get people to chant ‘Shema Yisroel, Hashem Elokeinu, Hashem Echad,’ in Hebrew. Partially it is, for them, the chanting of the prayer that Jesus said, and in part it is a powerful emotional statement about the Jews.”

Rabbi Greenberg added, “’The Suffering of the Innocents’ addresses the theological problem of suffering, often using Christian imagery, but also refers to the fact that the Jews are the classic example of innocent suffering. And just as God has a special love for the suffering innocent, so should Christians have a love for the Jewish people.

“It would be both impressive and a positive Jewish experience for Jews to be” at the Lincoln Center event, said Rabbi Greenberg. “And it is important for [the Neocatechumanals] to see that at least the Jewish establishment respects their work.”

Giuseppe Gennarini, of the Neocatechumenal leaders in the United States, told The Jewish Week that his movement aims at “rediscovery, and the first thing we discover in the faith is the Jewish roots, we discover the word of God, we discover Abraham, we discover the Exodus and the Passover. With rediscovery comes love. We are grateful to the Jews for what they have given to us, to help us know God.”

He prefers to think of Jews, not as an “elder brother,” as some Christians say, but as a “parent,” because in the Bible “there were so often difficulties between brothers, such as with Esau and Jacob, and Joseph and his brothers. So we say, not brothers, but you are our parent, our father in the faith.”

Proud Pharisee of the 'American' 'Jewish' Committee Expects Catholic Submission to AJC Doctrine

Rabbi David Rosen, who heads the American Jewish Committee's interreligious affairs office and is a veteran of Catholic-Jewish dialogue, said he was worried about the Vatican's gesture [towards the traditionalist Society of St. Pius X] and awaited further clarification.


"If 'Nostra Aetate' and 'Lumen Gentium' (another Vatican II document) are not considered fundamental doctrines of the Church, and it is possible to question them without challenging the authority of the church, then we (and not just Jewish-Catholic relations) are in for a very rough ride ahead," he said in an email. Rabbi David Rosen of the 'American' 'Jewish' Committee wants Catholics to submit to the Vatican II document, Nostra Aetate as if it was "fundamental doctrine of the Church" (on par with the Apostles' Creed) because the 'American' 'Jewish' Committee, via Rabbi Abraham Heschel, co-wrote Nostra Aetate HERE.

In keeping with Jesus' teaching of Matthew 16;6,11-12 to beware the doctrine of the Pharisees, I reject the doctrines of the AJC and Rabbi David Rosen who self-identifies as a proud Pharisee HERE and I pray that every Christian does the same.

The Pope's Guest Pharisee Lies to Synod

The below is an outright lie. There is no guarantee of equality for Christians or any non-Judaic citizens under Israeli law which Israel Shahak described as, "a weird mixture of advanced democracy and retrogressive discrimination, combined with clumsy attempts to hide the discriminatory reality." However, if Shahak was alive today, I believe his "advanced democracy" assessment would be tempered further by an acknowledgment of the ascendancy of racial supremacist Orthodox Judaism in the Israeli state.

According to Rabbi Rosen's stated standard (which he apparently intends to be applied only to Arab nations), Israeli society is sick.

ROME (EJP)---Rabbi David Rosen, the American Jewish Committee’s international director of interreligious affairs, was Wednesday the only Jewish speaker at a two-week Vatican Special Synod of Catholic leaders on the Middle East.
In his speech, he outlined a Jewish perspective on the state of Christianity and Jewish-Christian relations in Israel.

While this is not the first time a rabbi adresses a Vatican Synod it is the first time a Jewish representative has been asked to address a topic of social and political concern and sensitivity, the AJC said.

Hailing the “blessed transformation” of the relationship between the two faiths over the past 50 years, Rosen stressed that the strongest Jewish-Christian relationships are in the United States.

“The U.S. boasts literally dozens of academic institutions for Christian-Jewish studies and relations, while there are perhaps only three in the rest of the world,” he said.

In contrast, a major hurdle to deepening mutual understanding is the lack of opportunities for Christian-Jewish interaction around the world.

“I confess to having been surprised to find Catholic clergy, and sometimes even hierarchy from some countries, not only ignorant about contemporary Judaism but often even about Nostra Aetate itself,” Rosen said.

At the same time, he noted what he called “widespread ignorance” about Christianity in the Jewish world, notably in Israel.

“Until recently most of Israeli society has been quite unaware of the profound changes in Catholic-Jewish relations,” said Rosen, though he acknowledged that “this situation has begun to alter significantly in the last decade.”

Rosen said the improvement was due firstly to Pope John Paul II’s visit in 2000, and, secondly, to the influx of Christians, part of the wave of immigrants from the former Soviet Union, that doubled the Christian population in Israel.

Initiatives have flourished with “dozens of bodies promoting interreligious encounter, dialogue and studies in Israel, and the Christian presence in these, which include Jews and Muslims in Israel, is disproportionate and highly significant,” said Rosen.

“The wellbeing of Christian communities in the Middle East is nothing less than a kind of barometer,” he said. “The degree to which Christians enjoy civil and religious rights and liberties testifies to the health or infirmity of the respective societies in the Middle East,” said Rosen, adding that In Israel Christians “enjoy full franchise and equality before the law.”

I've been warning of this assault on the minds of children since 2005 to a largely apathetic traditional Catholic movement. I hope traditional Catholics aren't waiting for a sign from The Remnant, CFN, "the Fatima Priest," Bishop Fellay and the rest of traditionalism's leading lights as to the seriousness of this problem.

ADL revises annual Holocaust education programs

The Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) annual Holocaust Education Workshop, which emphasizes Holocaust education in the classroom and will feature four sessions Nov. 3-10, will, for the first time, overlap with “Bearing Witness,” the organization’s long-running, three-day workshop for Catholic-school teachers, seminarians and priests, which takes place Nov. 7-9.

Attendees from the two programs will come together for an eight-hour intensive learning session Nov. 7 at American Jewish University, where topics will include the “History of Anti-Semitism,” “Guidelines and Methodologies for Teaching the Holocaust,” “History of the Holocaust” and “Israel and Modern Anti-Semitism.”

The last, a new addition to the workshop curriculum, examines the “linkage between what happened in the Holocaust and how Israel is perceived around the world now,” said ADL Pacific Southwest Regional Director Amanda Susskind.

Father Dennis McManus, a consultant on Catholic-Jewish affairs at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, will speak at the “Bearing Witness” program, which, Susskind said, is “a program tailored to the Catholic-school experience.”

Its purpose, Susskind added, “is not just to teach about the Holocaust, but to teach about the miraculous change in the Catholic-Jewish relationship in the last 40 years.”

Father Alexei Smith, ecumenical and interreligious officer for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, said he hopes teachers don’t confuse the two ADL workshops as being in competition with each other.

“I’m a little afraid that one will outdo the other,” Smith said. “I know teachers, [and] they only have so much time to come to programs.”

Earlier this month, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, in partnership with Loyola Marymount University (LMU), similarly revised its 10th annual Southern California Teacher Forum on Holocaust Education. Organizers for the program, which is held at LMU, for the first time developed the agenda with Catholic educators in mind.

AP INTERVIEW: Passion Play called more balanced

BERLIN — The redo of Germany's famous Oberammergau Passion Play apparently works.

A prominent American rabbi and the archbishop of New York said Friday that this year's production is more balanced than in the past, after the director removed several stereotypes that had raised concerns of anti-Semitism.

New York's Roman Catholic Archbishop Timothy Dolan and Rabbi Gary Greenebaum of the American Jewish Committee watched the play together Thursday in the Bavarian village where it has been performed for more than 400 years. They both told The Associated Press in separate phone interviews they agreed at a joint dinner during the play's intermission that the show was more sensitive than previous performances.

The two religious leaders lauded the passion play's director, Christian Stueckl, for his re-enactment of the suffering and last days of Jesus Christ.

"I have always been sensitive to Jewish concerns that the play could perpetuate the ancient and tragically unjust misunderstanding that the Jews are responsible for the killing of Jesus," Dolan said. "But thanks to the courage of the directors, the villagers and the Jewish leaders, the script has gradually been renewed."

Greenebaum said the American Jewish Committee and other Jewish groups had worked with the producers of the Oberammergau Passion Play since the 1970s to help them overcome anti-Jewish stereotypes. He said this year's performance "is more balanced than ever before and we need to appreciate the tremendous efforts that have gone into it."

The Alpine village of Oberammergau has performed the passion play for more than 400 years and it is considered the most famous one in the world. It is staged only every ten years, and roughly half of the village's population — some 2,500 people — perform in it.

Changes to the performance, which began in 1633 to fulfill a promise the village made to God if he were to end the Black Plague, are always hotly debated.

In this year's edition, Stueckl — who normally directs at Munich's Volkstheater — has altered the script and staging of his third Oberammergau Passion Play to make even clearer that the Jews at the time could not be held responsible for the killing of Jesus.

Stueckl has also highlighted the Jews' oppression by the Romans, making Pontius Pilate a more provocative character, and clearly showing Jesus' Jewish roots.

"Jesus understands himself completely as a Jew. He was never baptized, he never had a First Communion, but he celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at 12 and died as a Jew on the cross," Stueckl told the AP at an interview in May. "Increasing awareness of this is very important to me."

Greenebaum and Dolan, who went backstage before the play to chat with the actors, discussed the five-hour-long play over dinner during its three-hour intermission, then continued their talks for two more hours.

They are both involved in interreligious dialogue in the United States. Dolan is the co-chair of the Catholic-Jewish relationship for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Greenebaum is the U.S. director of interreligious relations for the American Jewish Committee, an advocacy group based in New York.

Still, they said some concerns remained.

The depiction of Caiaphas — the Jewish high priest whose blame for Jesus' crucifixion has long been debated by Jews and Christians — seemed to stick out.

"The high priest character is still the most difficult to watch for Jews," said Greenebaum. "He does do things that could be seen as stereotypical."

While not explicitly referring to Caiaphas, Dolan also said some scenes in the play still "may give impression that Jewish people at the time bear guilt with the crucifixion."

However, this year's production is a far cry from past performances, when Jew[ish Priests wore traditional Judaic pointed hats] and the Jewish crowd affirmed that Jesus' "blood be upon us and upon our children."

"The Oberammergau Passion Play is a paradigm for the friendship of Jews and Catholics, it has shown low points in their relation in the past, but now it has also become a sign of great progress," Dolan said.

January 3, 2010 – New York – Rabbi David Rosen, AJC’s International Director of Interreligious Affairs, has been awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in her prestigious New Years honors list.

The CBE, one of Great Britain’s highest honors, was given to Rabbi Rosen in recognition of his interfaith relations work in the Middle East, and between the UK and Israel. He is the first Orthodox rabbi to receive the CBE.

“I feel very honored,” said the British-born Rabbi Rosen from his home in Jerusalem. “It’s not just a personal tribute but to all those before me and with me who work to promote a better world through deeper understanding and cooperation between religions.”

In addition to his role at AJC, where he also serves as Director of the Heilbrunn Institute for International Interreligious Understanding, Rabbi Rosen is an Honorary Advisor on Interfaith Relations to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. He also was a member of the permanent Bilateral Commission of the State of Israel and the Holy See that established bilateral relations between Israel and the Vatican.

In November 2005, Rabbi Rosen was named by Pope Benedict XVI a Papal Knight Commander of the Order of St. Gregory the Great for his outstanding contributions to promoting Catholic-Jewish reconciliation. It was the first time this Vatican honor was given to an Orthodox rabbi.

“All of us at AJC are delighted that the Queen has recognized Rabbi Rosen’s achievements in advancing international interfaith understanding,” said AJC Executive Director David Harris. “Wherever Rabbi Rosen travels, and he does so extensively, he engages those who aspire to a world where religion is seen as a force for good, not evil.”

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Israel's religious leaders asked Pope Benedict on Thursday to make Holocaust studies a required subject in Catholic schools, saying it could help combat anti-Semitism in future generations.

The two sides resumed a dialogue that was interrupted by the case of a Holocaust-denying bishop, which brought Catholic-Jewish relations to their lowest point in half a century.

The Israelis also asked that the Vatican take a strong stand against the draft final declaration of next month's U.N. conference on racism, a statement some countries view as hostile to Israel.

"May we suggest for your consideration that the history and the moral import of the Shoah ... become a required subject for inclusion in the curriculum of students at all Catholic schools the world over," Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen asked the pope during a meeting at the Vatican, using the Hebrew word for Holocaust.

Cohen, who is chief rabbi of Haifa, said such a move would "reinforce your strong stand against Holocaust denial and declaring anti-Semitism as a sin against God."

Rabbi David Rosen, International Director of Interreligious Affairs for the American Jewish Congress, told reporters afterwards: "I hope a recommendation (from the pope on Holocaust studies in Catholic schools) will come out of this latest crisis. That will be a silver lining to the cloud."

The meeting between representatives of Israel's chief Rabbinate and Vatican officials on Wednesday and Thursday was to have taken place last month but was postponed by the Jewish side because of the controversy over Bishop Richard Williamson.

On January 24, Benedict lifted the excommunication of Williamson and three other traditionalist bishops to try to heal a 20-year-old rift that began when they were thrown out of the Church for being ordained without permission. Williamson has said he believed there were no gas chambers and that no more than 300,000 Jews perished in Nazi concentration camps, compared with the figure of 6 million accepted by mainstream historians.

The pope has since made several major declarations to repudiate Williamson's views and condemn anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial.

On Thursday, Vatican officials announced Benedict would pay a visit to Rome's main synagogue in the autumn. "There's no firm date fixed yet," the chief Vatican spokesman, Father Federico Lombardi, told Italian media.

The Jewish delegation also asked the pope to instruct Vatican diplomats to take a strong stand against the current draft of the final statement of the U.N. Conference on Racism due to be held in Geneva April 20-24, known as Durban II.

The Vatican has said it will attend the conference but hoped for a change in the wording of its final declaration. Both Italy and the United States have said they will not attend unless there is a change of wording.

Vatican, German Chancellor Win Temporary Pharisee Approval

"American" "Jewish" Committee operative and proud, self-proclaimed Pharisee, David Rosen, who was in 2005 knighted by Pope Benedict XVI, is very pleased with the measures taken by church and state in Europe in response to the heresy of "Holocaust" denial. Pharisaic praise is quickly withdrawn, however. This will last only until the next shameful act of treachery is demanded, which will, no doubt, happen soon enough.

AJC Welcomes Vatican Statement on Holocaust Denier Bishop

New York – February 4, 2009 – AJC has applauded today’s statement from the Vatican demanding that Bishop Richard Williamson “absolutely, unequivocally and publicly distance himself” from his advocacy of Holocaust denial.

Williamson, a conservative Bishop whose excommunication by the late Pope John Paul II was recently revoked by Pope Benedict XVI, has consistently denied the existence of the Nazi gas chambers. The Vatican’s statement demanding he recant these view follows a chorus of angry protest from both Jewish groups and non-Jewish groups.

"This is what we were asking for - an unequivocal repudiation of Williamson's odious opinions and all such forms of anti-Semitism," said Rabbi David Rosen, AJC's International Director of Interreligious Affairs. “This welcome statement, as well as the clear reiteration that the Society of Saint Pius X, to which Williamson belongs, will only be allowed back into the Church once it respects the historic reforms of the Second Vatican Council, demonstrates the Vatican’s continuing commitment to good relations with the Jewish community. Had all this been expressed at the outset, we could have avoided the unnecessary damage and distress.”

Rosen paid special tribute to the many religious and civic leaders who contributed to this satisfactory resolution, in particular German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Coincidentally, Rabbi/Pharisee David Rosen was one of the signers of the joint Delegation of the Holy See's Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews /Chief Rabbinate of Israel document which falsely claims that the Talmudic "Noahide laws" have a biblical foundation.

I believe it's fair to ask whether this AJC rabbi emissary to the Vatican, David Rosen, has the same motivations as his predecessor, Rabbi Abraham Heschel. I have no doubt, but Rosen is far more slick than Heschel.

Walter Kasper Clarifies Intention of Benedict's Latin Prayer for the Jews to Chief Pharisee David Rosen

Cardinal Walter Kasper, President of the Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews, has written a letter clarifying the intention of the new Good Friday prayer for the Jews at the request of the Chief Rabbi of "Israel," and papal knight, David Rosen of which I present some excerpts. First, we see it implied by a top Vatican prelate that the Scripture-based traditional Latin Good Friday prayer for the Jews was "language of contempt" while it is stated that the new prayer expresses an intention of "mutual respect in respective otherness":

"To give witness of our Christian faith, as is expressed in the reformulated prayer, is therefore in no way a return to the language of contempt but an expression of mutual respect in our respective otherness."

What is the intention of the reformulated prayer?

The reformulated text no longer speaks about the conversion of the Jews, as some Jewish critics wrongly affirm. The text is a prayer inspired by St. Paul's letter to the Romans, chapter 11, which is the very text which speaks of the unbroken covenant. It takes up Paul's eschatological hope that at the end of times all Israel will be saved. As a prayer the text lays all in the hands of God and not in ours. It says nothing about the how and when. Therefore there is nothing about missionary activities, by which we may take Israel's salvation in our own hands. We leave all in the hands of the one who is the only master and Lord of history.

Does this prayer constitute any change in the Vatican's policy towards the elder brothers?

Hypocrites!

It's now being reported that the rabbis are going to condemn Benedict's prayer that he made up for them and foisted upon traditionalists on Shrove Tuesday last week. This is "Jewish" high drama. This serves to make Catholicism seem ever more wicked in the eyes of the world and in need of further updating. It also makes the Vatican appear to be besieged in the eyes of the "trads" and brings support from the foolish among them based upon that appearance. Already "trads" are arguing amongst themselves over the orthodoxy of a prayer which should be rejected straightaway solely based upon it being a concession to enemies of the faith. Once again Catholics have been played by the masters of the dialectic.

Why has this played out in such a devastating way as it has? Because everyone involved in this debacle has forsaken the example set by Jesus Christ for how to deal with Pharisees and their gambits:

"Then came to him from Jerusalem scribes and Pharisees, saying: Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the ancients? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answering, said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandment of God for your tradition?" (Matthew 15;1-3)

There, plain and simple, is the example from Jesus Christ for how to handle Pharisees and their hypocritical gambits--an example we are called to imitate but so rarely do.

When the Pharisees come knocking asking us to change our prayers for the salvation of their eternal souls saying they're offended by them, the correct answer is, "HYPOCRITES! You who curse us and pray for our destruction three times daily in your obligatory Birkat HaMinim have the audacity to demand that we change our prayers for your salvation? We will not exchange the truth for lies, and may God forgive you for even entertaining the thought!"

Who can come up with a better strategy than Christ?

Here is your ammunition:

And for Christians let there be no hope, and may all the evil in an instant be destroyed and all thy enemies be cut down swiftly; and the evil ones uproot and break and destroy and humble soon in our days. Blessed are you lord who breaks enemies and humbles sinners. (Birkat HaMinim, "Benediction" #12 of the Shmone Esreh (18 Benedictions) mandated by halacha to be prayed by every Orthodox Judaic male three times daily).

This "benediction" is 1918 years old. It predates the Good Friday prayer for the conversion of the Jews by centuries. There can be no argument that it was a reaction to "antisemitism" and "Christian violence" as was formulated at the time when the fledgling Christian Church was being persecuted by the synagogues. It has been mandatory that Orthodox Judaic males recite this curse against Christians for 1918 years now and Abe Foxman, The Chief Rabbinate of Israel, Rabbi-Knight David Rosen, the AJC and the rest of the Pharisees who have demanded that the Catholic liturgy be altered to their specification KNOW THIS. They're hypocrites. In fact, they're twice the hypocrite children of hell as their Pharisee spiritual forefathers of whom Christ said: "hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves."

The Rabbis' Hatred for the Good Friday Liturgy is Based in their Hatred for the Prophet Isaiah

"Trads" have been abuzz with commentary and discussion regarding a report that Benedict will issue a change in the traditional Latin Good Friday liturgy. So far, no official statement has been made so there's no use in speculating further on that. What is well known, however, is that if such a change is made, it will be due to Judaic lobbying from groups such as the misnamed Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Congress, the Chief Rabbinate of "Israel" and others.

As I read "trad" commentary I'm saddened by the lack of understanding of the tradition which these "trads" presume to represent.

The bulk of discussion has dealt with the prayer's focus on conversion and fear that this may be the target of change. I suspect Benedict is far too cagey to make such a move. He needs to uphold that phony facade of conservatism which he's conjured up with much help from the establishment via propagandist, Damien Thomson, and "trad" outfits such as "The Remnant."

What is it about this prayer that Judaic organizations are most offended by? The language of the prayer--references to spiritual blindness and veil-covered hearts. This is highly offensive to Benedict's elder brothers and they say religious relations will be damaged by the return of this prayer. At least one Cardinal says that we can't possibly insult his elder brothers in our liturgy.

Now, you may be saying, well maybe it wouldn't make much difference if "blindness" and "veil" were removed from the liturgy as long as we can still pray for the conversion of the "Jews." But I would say, what next? Shall we also change the passages of Scripture that the Good Friday prayer derives from? Let us look at the Old Testament scripture from which the language of the Good Friday prayer is taken:

And all the children of Israel came to him: and he gave them in commandment all that he had heard of the Lord in mount Sinai. And having done speaking, he put a veil upon his face. (Exodus 34;32-33)

And the Lord hath not given you a heart to understand, and eyes to see, and ears that may hear, unto this present day. (Deuteronomy 29;4)

I have brought up children, and exalted them: but they have despised me ... Go, and thou shalt say to this people: Hearing, hear, and understand not: and see the vision, and know it not. Blind the heart of this people, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes: lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted and I heal them. (Isaiah 1:2–3; 6:9–10)

For the Lord hath mingled for you the spirit of a deep sleep, he will shut up your eyes, he will cover your prophets and princes, that see visions. (Isaiah 29;10)

Let their eyes be darkened that they see not; and their back bend thou down always. (Psalms 68;24)

Which St. Paul makes reference to in his second epistle to the Corinthians:

Having therefore such hope, we use much confidence: And not as Moses put a veil upon his face, that the children of Israel might not steadfastly look on the face of that which is made void. But their senses were made dull. For, until this present day, the selfsame veil, in the reading of the old testament, remaineth not taken away (because in Christ it is made void). But even until this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. But when they shall be converted to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. (Second Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians, 3:12-16)

Jesus Christ Himself expounded on the prophesies of Isaiah regarding the spiritual blindness of Israel:

And the prophecy of Isaias is fulfilled in them, who saith: By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand: and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive. For the heart of this people is grown gross, and with their ears they have been dull of hearing, and their eyes they have shut: lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. For, amen, I say to you, many prophets and just men have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them. (Matthew 13;14-17)

And so you see, in essence, it's not the Catholic liturgy that the Judaic lobbyists are so offended by, but the Bible itself which the Catholic liturgy derives from.

Perhaps this is an opportunity to again restate the fact that these "elder-brothers" hold up the Bible only as a totem; as a means of usurping the prestige and favor the world bestows upon perceived "people of the Book" while they secretly hate the Book and do everything possible to make void the sayings of the Book as Christ said their pharisaic spiritual forebears did (Matthew 15;6).

So hateful are the rabbis towards what the Bible has to say about the Israelites (whom they claim to descend from) and their spiritual blindness that they created a fable about the great Old Testament prophet Isaiah where they repay him for stating that Israel had unclean lips, a fact revealed by Michael A. Hoffman.

[Isaiah] thereupon pronounced [the Divine] Name and was swallowed up by a cedar. The cedar, however, was brought and sawn asunder. When the saw reached his mouth he died. [And this was his penalty] for having said, 'And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips'. (Babylonian Talmud, Yebamoth 49b, Soncino Edition).

The rabbis claim that Isaiah was killed by having his own mouth sawed in half because he chastised the Israelites for their unclean lips. The rabbis have it that it was Isaiah who was wrong, not Israel.

And it is from Isaiah that the reference to spiritual blindness found in the traditional Good Friday prayer for the conversion of the Jews comes. This prayer isn't based in antipathy between medieval Catholics and "Jews." It's not "proof of the Church's 'anti-semitic' past" as the Judaic lobbyists claim. Its source is the Old Testament, specifically Moses and the prophet Isaiah! Their problem is fundamentally with the Old Testament prophet whom they hate so much that they childishly fictionally murder him as punishment for his "anti-semitism". This is what motivates the "elder brothers" and their lobbying for changes in the Good Friday liturgy.

And "trads" assume a defensive position in this matter? I say, wake up and turn the tables on counterfeit Israel, as Jesus Christ demonstrated how to do throughout the Gospel.

Vatican II Kabbalist Sage, Rabbi Abraham Heschel: "I Want to Attack Their Souls"

Returning to the biography of the Hasidic change agent, Rabbi Abraham Heschel (Spiritual Radical, by Edward K. Kaplan, Yale University Press). In this book is an account of an interview of Rabbi Heschel during the time the Vatican II document Nostra Aetate, which Heschel collaborated on, was being deliberated. The interview reveals an attitude of remarkable hostility to Christians, which should come as no surprise to those knowledgeable of the rabbinic tradition. What may surprise some (but shouldn't at this point) is that such a hostile character would be invited by Vatican officials to participate in the writing of a Church council document.

First some background: In Heschel's many meetings with Vatican officials (as an agent of the American Jewish Comittee) regarding Nostra Aetate, mostly with Augustin Bea, but including a secretive meeting with Paul VI, Heschel was most adamant that the document should clearly proclaim his belief that it is unacceptable for Christians to seek the conversion of "Jews." Heschel's chutzpah in peddling this absurd idea (which consequently would undercut Christ's incarnation, evangelical mission and sacrifice) went to the extreme of appealing to the non-Biblical, relativistic, Talmudic anti-principle mipnei darchai shalom during his meeting with Paul VI.

During the deliberations, a draft of the Nostra Aetate document was leaked to the press which did not include the prohibition against converting "Jews" which Heschel desired. This infuriated Heschel, and in response he wrote an editorial published by the New York Times and Time magazine in which he proclaimed, "As I have repeatedly stated to leading personalities of the Vatican, I am ready to go to Auschwitz any time, if faced with the alternative of conversion or death."

Edward Kaplan (citing Schuster's notes on record at AJC/Paris) writes that AJC European director, Zachariah Schuster warned Heschel that this outburst had been embarrassing to their Vatican collaborators but that Heschel replied undauntedly, "I had my own private reasons for making this remark." Heschel later revealed what those private reasons were to Stern Gang terrorist, Geula Cohen in an interview which she conducted for the Israeli newspaper, Ma'ariv.

In interviewing Rabbi Abraham Heschel, Geula Cohen made reference to Heschel's hysterical "ready to go to Auschwitz" statement saying she was proud of it, but that she would have handled it differently:

"This statement of yours made me proud. Yet, I would have written it differently, saying: 'if this were the only way in which I would be permitted to live, I would have endeavored to send them [Christians] to Auschwitz.'"

Cohen relayed that Heschel was not shocked by her words, but explained that his statement was stronger than hers:

"Frankly, I assert that the statement on Auschwitz, of which you are proud, is the strongest statement possible, and it has shaken many people throughout the world."

Heshel further clarified, explaining the private reasons he earlier said he had for making the "Auschwitz" statement:

"[Christians] correctly understood that I was comparing them to the Nazis. If I had made the statement in a straightforward fashion saying 'you are Nazis,' it would have sounded ridiculous. My style of writing is by hinting, because truth is in the depths. There are those who would like to attack their bodies. I want to attack their souls. Today, there is no longer any place for religious wars as such. Today there is occasion for conversation and discussion. Do you consider the desire to discuss a sign of weakness?" And there you have the motivation behind "dialogue" with "elder brothers" so succinctly summed up by one of the greatest pioneers of interfaith "dialogue" who participated in the writing of a Church council document, Nostra Aetate. Rabbinic warfare against Christian souls is not fought with guns and bombs, but with "conversation" and "discussion."

Here we see the subtlety of rabbinic warfare--utterly undefended against--even as the rabbis conscribe their spiritually conquered prisoners of war and their resources to fight their war against the specter of "Islamofascist" "Amalek."

This is an important book for those interested in the machinations of the American Jewish Committee in the Second Vatican Council. Martin ... was sympathetic to the Jewish position ...

"With a mixture of motives, lofty and ignoble, Martin became close to Heschel and Schuster. He enjoyed their company immensely, especially when they vied with each other in telling jokes in Yiddish ... Martin primarily advised the AJC on theological issues, but he also provided logistical intelligence and copies of restricted documents." Christ called the Pharisees "children of hell." But what did He know ... Note that this man, Rabbi David Rosen who happily identifies himself as a Pharisee, also has had the title "papal knight" bestowed upon him by Benedict XVI. And note that Rabbi David Rosen is one of the signers of the document produced by the joint committee of the Papal Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews and the Chief Rabbinate of "Israel" which claims a Biblical basis for the Talmudic "Noahide Laws" documented HERE.

... [Rabbi David] Rosen kept talking about Pharisees in a complimentary way. Kendall finally said, "Rabbi Rosen, I almost get the impression that you're a Pharisee and proud of it." Rosen replied, "You're exactly right!" That led to more conversations, and a book ...

Rosen: My hope would be that Christians would associate Pharisee with a good Jew, one who lives in the sense of the divine presence and seeks to fulfill the divine Word and will in his or her daily life. But I think we've got too many centuries of negative indoctrination.

So what Rosen is saying is that he wants Christians to believe exactly the opposite of what the Gospel teaches about the Pharisees. Rosen goes on to call Jesus a Pharisee and then creates a false dilemma between "good" Pharisees who uphold the Pharisaic tradition and "bad" Pharisees who fall short of what he fancies to be the lofty ideals of the Pharisaic tradition:

... I believe that Jesus was a Pharisee who knew that there were wonderful Pharisees around, probably the majority, but there were some who were actually desecrating the name, the message, and the tradition they were meant to be the custodians of.

One wonders where this "majority" of "good Pharisees" was during Christ's apprehension by, and trial before the Sanhedrin and subsequent execution. And one wonders further where that "majority" of "good Pharisees" was when the Pharisees wrote in their Talmud that Christ deserved to be executed.

And dear Rabbi Rosen, ... excuse me, dear Pharisee Rosen, I seem to recall that it was precisely the Pharisaic tradition itself that Christ condemned so repeatedly and so harshly; the tradition which He said makes void the Word of God which the Pharisees should have been the custodians of but were not; the tradition that you uphold and which you disingenuously attempt to makeover. You may as well attempt to sell me on the notion that the sky is red, or that 2+2=3, or that rabbis are honest men of good will ...
